- Work -

Mm…I just do my thing.

There was a point where for 2 weeks I didn’t do any of my own work. I captured and logged footage for one of the editors while he was gone on a film shoot. That same week I took over in shipping because Jerry took some time off. Had to stop the logging and capturing of footage to do that. At one point during that day, I was doing things for 5 different people:

Defragging Marcel’s computer (since I wasn’t capturing and logging anymore)

Shipping duties for Jerry

Capturing and making a DVD for Tony

Making DVDs for myself because some were missing that I needed to pack and ship for an order

And backing up Peach Tree (accounting information)

Seriously, my work doesn’t get done when I’m not there. But there I was doing stuff for 4 others and still had to do something for myself since no one covers my job. I did joke/snap at Patrick because he added the Peach Tree part towards the end of the day since he had to go pick up our production manager at the airport. I said it loud enough for those within earshot to hear that I was doing the work of 5 people. It’s great that they appreciate that I’m able to do that, but sometimes appreciation isn’t enough. I was expecting a small bonus if anything, but then again they never know the full story of what I do when I work. 3 computers all do something so I’m never NOT working and all that stops when I have to do stuff for others. I know the people I help out appreciate it and know how valuable I am to be dispensable like that, but management just seems to play it off like I’m JUST covering for others when they’re gone. What if I wasn’t there? What if I was sick? No one else can really drop their work to help out. They have deadlines to meet and projects to finish. They’ve already mentioned that Jerry and I can’t have vacation at the same time and I understand that (still sucks though). But what if one of us is on vacation and the other gets sick? 3-4 people have to cover in shipping meaning they have to stop their important projects. That sucks. It’s a bit of pressure that I HAVE to be there just in case. What if things come up? I was actually a little sick those days I was doing shipping, but I just kept thinking of what everyone else had to do (project-wise) and just sucked it up and did the work. I just want a little more from what I do here.

And that just adds to why I hate our Monday progress reports (meetings). Sometimes I don’t mind when I have to tell them I did 1234567890 things to show that I actually do stuff. This past Monday I had maybe 7 things to say, but got cut off because someone had something to say about thing number 4. So they went off on a tangent like they always do and I’m just waiting to continue. BUT they move on to the next person. And I looked at our production manager and we made eye contact and I was motioning that I wasn’t done and he didn’t do anything about it. AND when the next guy was done he asked if there was anything else that HE did AND did that for the next guy. PRICK! We made eye contact and you knew I wasn’t done and yet you just went on. I would’ve stopped and said my part again, but I’ve done that before and it’s not worth it since it doesn’t seem like they’re paying attention when I say my part and it’s not like they write all the things I do because IT’S A LOT TO WRITE AND IT’S PROBABLY NOT IMPORTANT TO YOU SINCE IT’S NOT A BIG PROJECT AND YOU ONLY CARE WHEN I’M INVOLVED WITH THINGS THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO YOU ONLY!

- Video Games -

Wii Fit Review - click

I don’t think I play games that much anymore. I still have my list of games I want when they come out. The next 2 are for the DS in July, which are the new Trauma Center and Final Fantasy IV. I haven’t really been playing Wii Fit. When I was sick for a while, that threw me off and I haven’t gotten back into really using Wii Fit other than checking my BMI, weight, and COB.

- Music -

I’ve added at least 100 more songs to my iPod since last time.

I really like DBSK’s “Rising Sun.” Even though it’s at least 3 years old, I really like it.

I bought BoA’s “Everything Needs Love” single. I don’t know why, but I just started to like that song more and more over time. I do like the piano version. It really changes to mood of the song (at least for me).

I uploaded more of BoA’s music videos and concert clips to my iPod. One time at 101 they were playing her latest concert and I just happened to have put some of those clips on my iPod that day. So I took it out and got my video to sync with their video. I felt great and awesome. Victoria probably thought I was a dork for doing that, ha. She’s a nerd anyways so pblblblt!

I edited another song. I took Tommy Heavenly6’s “Lost My Pieces.” She made 2 versions of it. I just meshed them together in my own funky way and called it “Lost My Pieces (Melancholy Heavenly Mix).”

Lee Hyori is coming out with her 3^rd album soon. It’s been a while since she released her last one. I actually didn’t like the 2^nd album that much. Her first one was much better. Still don’t know if I’ll get it yet, but we’ll see.

Cheon Sang Ji Hee has a new Japanese single coming out in July. Of course I’ll be ordering that. Can’t wait to hear their new stuff.

- New Year’s Resolutions -

In January, I set 3 resolutions.

1. Exercise more.

2. Reprogram myself to get rid of a few OCD habits.

3. Personal (some know of it already).

How did I do after half a year? Well, 1 out of 3 isn’t bad. Exercise happens when it happens although it has been less than when the year started. Wii Fit isn’t helping much after I got sick and never got back on a regular routine. Some OCD habits still exist, but at least I’ve let go of some. And the personal one was going well till about a month ago and since then I haven’t gone back and am going forward with great hope. How that will turn out is yet to be seen.

The Rock’s new DVD-set is really cool. Great fun memories to relive.

People Do Come Back From Iraq

If any of you remember Maria, she had recently come back from Iraq.

One year after joining the army, she was sent to Iraq.

It’s been almost a year since then and she had returned safely.

(by the way, I forgot my camera at work so pictures were taken with my camera phone)

She called me the day she got back explaining how she has 2 weeks of leave from the army.

She wanted to hang out for old time’s sake and so did I.

I didn’t know she went to Colombia for a week though.

I did wonder why she didn’t call earlier to do stuff.

Anyways, I ended up going to see her the day before she had to leave.

Ended up going to Pappasito’s (her choice) with her mom.

That’s who I thought was all it was going to be.

I met her older brother, Jose, for the first time.

Cool guy, had a cool shirt on and was fun.

Maria also invited her closest friends (whom she considers family), Ashley and Samantha.

I had not seen them in a long time either.

Samantha has a baby boy of her own now, Evan-Tyler (ET).

He’s 3 months old and a cute little thing.

Unfortunately, dinner was bad.

Not the food…we didn’t even get to the food.

Our 45 minute wait for a table ended up being over an hour.

Then we waited almost another hour and didn’t even have our food out.

We decided to leave.

The manager got the cooks to pack up our food to go and we got it for free along with a couple of gift certificates.

It was around 10 by that time and we all split.

Ashley and Samantha left together and Maria’s mom took her brother back to his place.

Maria and I went to her mother’s place.

Saw her step-father, who I also had not seen in a while either.

Her mom came back and we ate our food.

The parents retired for the night and Maria and I just hung out and watched TV and talked like we used to.

Spent a couple hours sharing stories from what we didn’t get to talk about during dinner.

She does remember some of you (not all by name, ha) and asked about you.

She even remembers Café 101 because I took her there one time when she had some leave time early on in her army training days.

Laughed.

Shared more stories.

She was saying how everyone in Colombia was asking about me.

Earlier she showed me pictures/video of her family there.

The little ones had grown up so much in a couple of years.

Oh, and she got me a coffee bean bracelet while she was there as a gift.

She showed me pictures of army buddies and such, not much though since she didn’t have much to show.

Yeah, good times.

It was just good to see her again.

She doesn’t have much to do in Iraq, so I’ll be sending her stuff like pictures and videos to keep her occupied.

Playing the Wii and DS can only go so far, ha.

But yes, people do come back from Iraq.

I am just glad to see her safe, alive, healthy, and doing well.
