February 2019 Entry
=========================
- The Moogle I won from Toreba came in (02.06). It is huge and it really is my favorite plush I have. It doesn't have a name yet (as of typing this 03.03), but I have an idea and will officially name it after beating Final Fantasy IX.
- When I heard about Most Stuf Oreos, I knew I wanted to try them. Didn't see any in stores so I ordered a package from Amazon. It was a collector's tin that came with a pack of them as well as 5 cookies and cream bars. When I finally got the order, I was surprised with how big the box was (02.07). That was because I was sent 2 instead of one. Since getting them, I have been slowly working my way through the cookies and cream bars (still have a few left) and have yet to touch the cookies. Soon.
When you order one item and they send you two, awesome. pic.twitter.com/Jawx9WfNbp— Arnell (WingedVoX) (@ArnellragasA) February 8, 2019
- Finally watched Dragon Ball Super: Broly (02.28). Everything others had been saying about this movie were accurate. Such a good Dragon Ball movie. Light on story and comedy (but well done) and a bunch of crazy fight scenes.
=========================
- While I knew I wasn't going to watch the Super Bowl, I made sure to watch WWE's Halftime Heat (02.03). Wow, what a fun match. All men shined and even seeing wrestlers in the audience enjoying the match added to it.
- I was at work when a friend messaged me about the Royal Rumble 2020 being announced for Houston (02.15). Seems like we're getting a good group together to go. Can't wait for tickets to go on sale. Plus TakeOver and RAW and SmackDown will be here as well so I'll definitely be getting tickets to all.
- The Elimination Chamber was in town (02.17). When it was announced during the last time RAW was in Houston, it was the first time I ever went to the box office after the show to get tickets. I was anxious about the event because I got sick the week of (family was sick and I'm always last to get sick from them). But I was doing enough things to feel okay the day of.
I was tired that day. But things started off great when I parked. Izzy and her family parked right next to me and we immediately recognized and greeted each other. Got a boost of energy from them as we walked to the Toyota Center together. Got to catch up and talk about things (Izzy has grown so much). And before we split so we could each meet our friends, I took a photo with Izzy.
And it was great to meet the future champ @ItsIzzyMania and her family @jenny_silagyi @Cody_Starbuck again. Seeing you all after so long was a wonderful way to start the event. If I don't see you all any time soon, I hope to see you at the Rumble next year in Houston. pic.twitter.com/mQIuWTfqtQ— Arnell (WingedVoX) (@ArnellragasA) February 18, 2019
Getting inside and seeing the actual chamber was awesome. My friend and I took some photos of it and talked about how our vision would be blocked. It wasn't that bad honestly. We wondered who would be in the pod closest to us and the order the pods would be opened. From where we were sitting, we were behind the Riott Squad and Jeff Hardy during their respective chamber matches. We also got to see Becky Lynch hobbling in from the tunnel across from us as well as Bobby Lashley sneaking by in front of us with a chair. It was an awesome PPV. Glad to experience an Elimination Chamber in person.
- Welcome back, Big Dog (02.25).
=========================
- Started off February by playing Onimusha: Warlords for the first time (02.01). I liked it. I did feel it was better with tank controls so I played that way after the first few minutes of trying the other way. The game itself was fun. I liked the combat and the story. I didn't find it too difficult, but I wasn't compelled to play it again or go for 100% completion. I'm definitely down if they release Onimusha 2 and 3 in the future.
Onimusha: Warlords finished. Thanks to everyone that watched me beat it in one sitting. I really enjoyed being a samurai. Special thanks to @Zoukiji for the raid. I'll look up to see whether I want to possibly 100% the game or not. So you'll know soon. https://t.co/05zxTvqxQ3 pic.twitter.com/9JUe6bQtNr— Arnell (WingedVoX) (@ArnellragasA) February 2, 2019
- New and only Demo Showcase for the month (02.03). We tried out Combat Core (poor man's Power Stone), Pic-a-Pix Pieces (same as usual), Shift Happens (fun co-op game), Tied Together (can only be played in co-op, but I tried 2 and 4 players with multiple joy-cons solo), and Woodle Tree Adventures (poor man's Zelda). I liked them all to a degree, but Shift Happens was added to my Wish List.
- RIP Screwattack (02.04). It was crazy to find out about it. The YouTube channel is now DEATH BATTLE. But it was great seeing all the memories and kind words shared all around by those that were part of or were fans of Screwattack. Below is a link to Game Attack where they got some of the team together to talk about their memories of the company. You will be missed, but your impact will live on.
- Downloaded Gunman Clive HD early and then got to play it (02.06). I really enjoyed it when I originally played the collection on the Wii U. It was great playing it again. Nothing had changed so things I liked and disliked were still there. But I did beat each game with all characters. Made for a good stream.
Gunman Clive HD Collection completed. Thank you to anyone that joined the stream today. We beat both Gunman Clive 1 & 2 with all 4 characters. It was fun to play it again since the the Wii U release. Tune in next stream as we try out Onigiri. https://t.co/8A1r4rODfA pic.twitter.com/whhuvSkbb1— Arnell (WingedVoX) (@ArnellragasA) February 7, 2019
- Another free game that came out on the Switch was Onigiri (02.08). It was an MMORPG and it was okay. There were points where there was a lot of lag especially in town with lots of people. But it wasn't too difficult, but not that compelling. It crashed a few times as well.
- I downloaded a couple of games that were on sale for a dollar on the eShop. One of those was One Strike (02.09). My only exposure to the game was when Game Grumps played it. So I knew it wouldn't be a long game to "beat." But I had figured before streaming that I would let anyone in stream be a character in the tournaments. The game itself was fun (need to try it against someone sometime), but watching the AI tournaments was cool for myself and the viewers. At least everyone in stream won 2 or 3 times. I wouldn't mind revisiting this.
Thanks to everyone that was part of the stream. If you tweeted, liked, cheered bits, or did anything in the stream, you were added to the tournament. Results of the 30 tournaments in the photos below, congratulations. Next stream, Lolo has an adventure. https://t.co/PuQpjrzwls pic.twitter.com/wh9iSyu2Pf— Arnell (WingedVoX) (@ArnellragasA) February 12, 2019
- The next NES game I decided to tackle was The Adventures of Lolo (02.12). Never played it before, but it looked familiar. A fun puzzle game. Took about 6 hours to beat it from beginning to end, but we did it. One cool thing during this stream was having a random game developer watching and commenting. The game he was helping develop was heavily influenced by Lolo so he was doing research by watching me. He also helped when I needed it. He's come back in other streams and I've seen his streams too.
Thanks to everyone that was in the stream. Raids, follows, bits, and general encouragement was much appreciated. We beat the Adventures of Lolo in one sitting (tough challenge). Next stream, we beat Super Mario Bros 2 and watch the Nintendo Direct. https://t.co/dGO02abJ4L pic.twitter.com/1Lzn46RdPs— Arnell (WingedVoX) (@ArnellragasA) February 13, 2019
- One of the new NES games released on the NES App was Super Mario Bros. 2 so it was the next on my list to beat (02.13). I knew it would be short even though I planned to not warp and play all the levels, so I tried seeing if I can stream the upcoming Nintendo Direct. Had a couple of options I tried, but ended up adding a browser option in OBS. This made it my first reaction video. I didn't think I'd react, but I ended up doing so for a few games. Great Nintendo Direct. After that short stream, I did spend a decent amount of time to figure out my gaming schedule thanks to the Final Fantasy IX and VII release dates. Pretty much, I will be beating one Final Fantasy game a month for 5 months (IX, VII, X, X-2, XII).
Fun stream today. We beat Super Mario Bros 2. First with no warps and swapping characters each time. And we almost beat it again in speed run fashion, but lost all our lives. It was fun. Next stream...Final Fantasy IX. https://t.co/ttzzwEtzDS pic.twitter.com/oJ9aoVPML9— Arnell (WingedVoX) (@ArnellragasA) February 13, 2019
- To prepare for Final Fantasy IX, I looked around to find the soundtrack and strategy guide (02.14). Found the soundtracks quickly, but the strategy guide was nowhere to be found. In terms of Final Fantasy strategy guides, I found all from I through X-2. My guess is I let someone borrow it and never got it back. It wasn't my favorite strategy guide anyways because there was a lot of references to check out the online guide for things on almost every page.
- Started playing Final Fantasy IX (02.18). Had not played this since it was released on the original Playstation 19 years ago. I remembered a few things about the game, but as I continued playing, I think I forgot about 90% of what happens and what to do. So it was as if I was playing the game for the first time. I did check on FAQ a few times (so many missable things) and asked for help a few times from the chat too. For every stream, I did spend 30-60 minutes leveling up. And my prediction was it would take me 8-10 streams to beat the game. As of typing this (03.03), I haven't beat it yet, but will soon.
One bad thing that happened was that I had my first power outage occur while streaming (02.25). It happened halfway through the stream and took about 10-15 minutes to reboot everything back to normal.
- Got new amiibo (02.19). First new ones from the Smash Bros line of amiibo. I "unboxed" them on stream like I did the Animal Crossing ones I got, but that means I took them out of the box it was delivered in only.
amiibo count is now 120. pic.twitter.com/yU0sgofELe— Arnell (WingedVoX) (@ArnellragasA) February 20, 2019
- Thank you, Reggie (02.21).
Nintendo fans, Reggie has a message for all of you. Please take a look. pic.twitter.com/EAhaEl5oEJ— Nintendo of America (@NintendoAmerica) February 21, 2019
- Capcom revealed the release dates for the upcoming Resident Evil games (02.25). You can preload them now, but they officially come out May 21st. Doesn't matter for me as I plan to play them all in October.
Resident Evil 0, 1, and 4 are coming to Nintendo Switch eShop on May 21!— Resident Evil (@RE_Games) February 25, 2019
Play all three masterpieces anywhere, such as:
- On trains 🚆
- During mansion tours 🏰
- Across the European countryside 🌄
Pre-orders start on Feb 28! pic.twitter.com/BCzatyoUhU
- Picked up the Best Buy exclusive Child of Light + Valiant Knights combo (02.26). There were only 2 copies where I went. It's the only way to get Child of Light in physical form, but I will play Valiant Hearts at some point (some time in March).
- Capcom also revealed when the Ace Attorney Trilogy is coming out (02.27). It comes out April 9th, but can be preloaded now. My Japanese copy is shipped out so that will arrive before this, but I did have to figure when to play these since the gaming schedule is front loaded with Final Fantasy for a while. I decided on every other month starting in April (June, August). This also makes it so my Phoenix Wright emote is available to use on those months. Since there are so many games coming out, I decided to preload games the day before.
TAKE THAT! Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy comes to your favorite platform beginning April 9th!— Ace Attorney (@aceattorneygame) February 27, 2019

- Awesome Mega Man Battle Royal on DEATH BATTLE (02.27). My choice did not win.
=========================
- First time in a while that I've done 4 sessions at work (02.09). Ran 2 Naval Warfares and 2 Dark Sides. Last time I did 4 sessions on the same day was when I was training Agents Blue-Heeler, Oculus, and X and then running a session myself all in different rooms. Needless to say, I was exhausted.
- We didn't have a meeting this month. We were just busy getting Dark Side of the Moon ready as well as actually having a good amount of sessions this month.
- Honestly, not a lot to report work-wise. February was busy so that was good. Some gripes are still there, but this was one of the better months we had at the new location in a while.
=========================
- ITZY - DALLA DALLA (MV)
the8bitdee asked me in one of her streams if I was into ITZY. I wasn't, but gave them a shot since she recommended them. I watched their music video and all their performances up to that point and I was somewhat sold on them. I've never been able to get into rookie groups and this wasn't different. They aren't bad, but the song doesn't do it for me. Plus they're super young. I'll keep an eye on them though. My favorites are Ryujin and Yuna.
- Hyomin - Allure (MV)
- Tiffany Young - Lips on Lips (MV)
Before Lips on Lips was released, Tiffany was on V Live. That was the first I ever caught any V Live stream live. I've only caught replays, but Tiffany was on at a decent time. Watched it from beginning to end. Other than a few technical issues, Tiffany was great. You can tell how happy she was performing. Very proud of her.
- And to my best friend, you know I'm here for you. Any time and every time.
- That's it for February 2019. Thanks for reading.
"Reprise the theme song and roll the credits."
