November 2017 Entry

November 2017 Entry

Hello. November was memorable. Sorry for being late on this entry though.

=========================

- Congratulations to the Houston Astros for winning their first ever World Series (11.01).

- The latest new snack I tried was seaweed (11.12). I know I have had some before, but this was my first time purchasing it. And did I get a lot. As of typing this blog (12.11), I haven't finished half of them. It's good, but eating it every day loses its flavor.

- NXT TakeOver: WarGames is the first in four straight days of wrestling (11.18). I went with a friend who is also into wrestling. We were lining up early and he ran into a lot of people he knew. I got a surprise by Izzy and her family coming up to me. That's nuts that they were the ones coming up to me. We reminicsed about meeting at the Royal Rumble earlier in the year, her dad talked to us about the Mae Young Classic, and I asked Izzy who she thought was going to win the Fatal-4-Way match for the NXT Women's Championship. I briefly spoke to her mom also before we all went back in line. That was an awesome way to start this series of wrestling nights.

It wasn't too much after that we made our way in. Our seats were right next to the entrance ramp, somewhere I haven't sat before. It was my friend's first time having floor seats and he couldn't believe how close we really were. The security guard was cool to talk to and the family that sat around us (the mom) was very informative. She was the mom of one of the regulars you see ringside at almost every WWE event (got to learn names and some silly drama going on).

The matches, all amazing. I was worried at first about the two rings and then the cage at the end obstructing our view, but neither were a factor. I could go in detail about every match, but just know that I was going nuts for all of them. A few things to note: we saw where the wrestlers significant others sat (Candice La Rae, Rachel Evers, etc), Peyton Royce is so pretty in person, I got to see tears in Kairi Sane's eyes after the match (plus we made eye contact with me giving her a thumbs up after the match), and the cage lowering was a sight to see.

Afterwards, we spoke to a few people (the ones that wanted photos with our titles) and we ran into Izzy and her family as we were leaving. They're a wonderful family. Great way to end WarGames. My first TakeOver was so damn good.

- Survivor Series was crazy fun too (11.19). Had floor seats again. We were actually at the area where Kevin Owens escaped through towards the end of the show. We got to take our chairs home and I actually tried looking for Izzy again to give mine to them again. But the jetted out fast since they needed to sleep and fly out the next day. One cool thing to note when we were walking to our seats, we passed by the area they were filming the preshow. That has to be the closest I've ever been to Shawn Michaels. Awesome to see my favorite wrestler that close in person.

- RAW  was also fun (11.20).  Went with 2 of my cousins and one of their girlfriends. We were in the section where the Shield came down from. I held my fist out and my cousin bumped it when he touched Roman Reigns, which meant I inadvertently grazed Roman Reigns bicep, ha. My other cousin and his girlfriend happened to go to the restroom right before it and they took a video of the Shield running into position, awesome. And Paige returning with Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, too cool.

- Smackdown was a great cap to the end of 4 nights of wrestling (11.21). Cool to see Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, and Sara Logan debut. What was even better was seeing security setting up their run in. I pointed it out to my friend and I'm pretty sure I was the first to pop up when they ran down that path. 205 Live was also fun to watch (the first one I saw in person wasn't). And then the after show match was glorious. Styles, Nakamura, and Roode VS Mahal, Corbin, and Rusev. We kept chanting "Rusev Day," which prompted him to soak it in and join the face team, ha. After the match, Roode kept bringing in staff members to do his Glorious pose while his song played and of course the crowd was into it.

And to top things off, I didn't lose my voice. Very surprising. But 4 straight nights of wrestling was incredible.

- During Black Friday, I ordered a new blu-ray player (11.26). It was half off and it had decent reviews. It has some cool features too. I can hook up a USB device to watch any videos I have (some formats don't work) or watch YouTube or the WWE Network on it.

The first blu-ray I actually watched on it was Batman VS Two-Face (11.27). That had been sitting ever since it was released and I wanted to wait to watch it. It's a really good movie. Hits that nostalgic and humorous points really well. I recommend watching it especially if you were a fan of Adam West as Batman.

=========================

- I now own 100 amiibo thanks to the Super Mario Odyssey amiibo (11.01). And these 3 might very well be my top favorites. They look so good.

And I did beat Super Mario Odyssey (11.09). There was no hesitation about completing the game 100%, which I ended up doing a few days later (11.13). This game is absolutely fantastic. From someone who said Super Mario 64 was his favorite 3D Mario game, this might now be my favorite. Highly recommended.

- Of course I bought the new Breath of the Wild amiibo (11.11). All 4 of the Champions look great and are on par with the other Breath of the Wild amiibo.

-  Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney got released on the 3DS (11.23). While not many liked this title when it was originally released, I enjoyed it, but I never got around to replaying it like I did with the original trilogy. So I was really excited to jump back into these set of cases again.

- Super Mario Cereal (11.30)? I'll eat it. If I ever see it in the grocery store, I'm definitely buying a box.

=========================

- We offered a BOGO deal (11.01). It lasted for the first half of November.

- Won't go into the details, but as tweeted online, it has been such a long time that I had been this stressed out about work stuff (11.03).

- Our latest and last silly video involves a lamp and football (11.05).

- November's company meeting didn't have our normal silly pose (11.07). Since the team was putting together meals for a charity, we took a nice photo of that happening.

- And November's blog was written by Agent Striker (11.30).

=========================

- Minah - 11 Degrees (MV)

- Happy Birthday, BoA (11.05).

- Happy Birthday, Momo (11.09).

- Red Velvet - Peek-A-Boo (MV)

- Don't know why, but I attempted doing LIKEY at 2x speed (11.29). For not knowing the entire dance, it wasn't that bad. Still felt super tired afterwards, but I also felt accomplished.

- And that puts a cap on November. Thank you for reading.

October 2017 Entry

October 2017 Entry

A lot happened in October.

=========================

- Here is a photo of me in front of random graffiti art (10.04). We found it when going on an excursion to film something for HER. More on that later in this post.

- Hell In A Cell was fun to watch (10.08). Both HIAC matches were brutal. Shane and Owens had me breathless and speechless when they were on top of the cell as long as they were.

https://youtu.be/sH-lp_j84YI

- Did something bold, but felt highly embarrassed about it (10.10). This note is just a reminder to me about it.

- Purchased my tickets for NXT TakeOver: Houston WarGames (10.12). This is going to be insane. Going with another wrestling friend that I haven't gone to a live event with yet.

- Got gas at my usual gas station on the way back home from work. I noticed that they had Fanta Apple (10.19). I had not had one since sometime after my trip to Marfa last year. I asked how many they had since I knew it was hard to find. They told me they had 18. I bought all of them.

- Couldn't find Batman VS Two-Face at my usual Best Buy (10.22). Eventually found it, but I have yet to watch it. Hopefully soon if a certain game doesn't continue taking up all of my free time.

- From the fun HIAC to the nuts TLC (10.22). Balor VS Styles, incredible. Was bummed that there weren't separate Tables, Ladders, or Charis matches, but that last match was crazy. So much happened and Kurt Angle was back in action, wow.

- Congratulations to two dear friends on the birth of their son (10.24).

- Went to Ramen Bar Ichi for lunch to catch up with a really close friend (10.29). We had a lot to catch up on from as far back as September and recent troubles and frustrations. It was good to talk to her. The ramen was also good and the talk we had was needed. Thank you.

- I've had some problems with my phone for a while (10.29). It would randomly freeze, apps would crash, and the straw the broke the camel's back was that the receiver stopped working. I couldn't hear anyone and they could not hear me. I did try a lot of methods of fixing it that I found online, but ultimately went to an Apple store for help...but their Genius Bar was closed. They worker did suggest one more method that I did not try yet and it worked. So far...still a few random freezes, but that's it.

=========================

- Completed Metroid: Samus Returns (10.02). This was a great remake of the original Metroid Returns. Some parts were difficult, but it never felt impossible. I knew I wouldn't do a second playthrough so I made sure to get everything I missed before the end. I really enjoyed this game and recommend it to any fan of the Metroid series.

- Played a few Swich demos (10.02). Project Octopath Traveler is an interesting RPG. I tried out both characters. While I liked them, it didn't hook me. I'll keep it on my radar, but it looks like I'll pass on it. VOEZ was a fun rhythm game. I'm pretty sure it's the first undocked only game I've played on the Switch. I liked it a lot, but will wait for a sale on it like a few other eShop games I have in my sights.

- Picked up Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions (10.06). I beat it in less than the 2 weeks (10.16). I enjoyed the original Superstar Saga when I played it on the Wii U Virtual Console. I enjoyed this just the same. Although the Bowser's Minions portion of the game did not catch my attention. I gave it a try, but yeah...not interesting enough for me. Other than that, I did a lot in the game, but I'm pretty sure I did not 100% it. I did when I played the GBA one though. I recommend it though. Still the same solid RPG that started a great series.

- Picked up the new Fire Emblem amiibo, Chrom and Tiki (10.21). That brought my amiibo count up to 96.

- I don't remember when I started, but I did watch all the cutscenes for Final Fantasy XV (10.22). I also watched all the cutscenes for the 2 DLC campaigns and am looking forward to the rest. Heck of a story. Glad I got to experience that game in some fashion.

- Bought a Pit amiibo when I picked up Batman VS Two-Face (10.22). I did this solely on the fact that my next set of amiibo would bring me to 100. Pit helped with the count and brought it to 97.

- Super Mario Odyssey is great so far (10.27). I didn't start playing it right away due to things, but I started it (10.29). It definitely is the game that is taking up my time off. More on this next month when I'll most likely finish the game.

- Continuing to add to my collection, I ordered a copy of Gyakuten Saiban 6 and it arrived almost 2 months later (10.31).

=========================

- Another silly video we made (10.01).

- And another company meeting (10.03). Props to Agent Blue-Heeler for making us a custom cake.

- Not only did we have a silly video, we made a Halloween video (10.09). Myself and Agent Oculus didn't get to as early as we wanted to (at least a couple weeks ago), but we knocked it out fast and good. Found a good location, we switched roles (him behind the camera and me in front of it), and the editing was simple. The video turned out really well.

- Agent Majordomo will be having his own series of blogs for a while (10.15). Each will have tips for customers.

- It has been a while since I had a meeting with an advertiser, but this was the best one I ever had (10.19). While she had told me stuff I heard before, I really liked her approach. It was the right level of business and casual. And she was easy to talk to. While these meetings usually last about half an hour at best, ours went on for almost 2 hours. The first part was business, but the last part was more casual as we talked about other possibilities with her soccer team. I was actually more excited about that possibility than her original one. Hopefully that comes to fruition.

- We threw Agent Oculus a surprise going away celebration. Yes, he unfortunately had to leave the company due to a lot of things going on in his life. He was a good one. Always had a smile on his face and genuinely had fun everyday at HER. He will be missed.

- The Houston Astros won the World Series. The weeks during the playoffs was actually rough for us. It's nothing we never encountered before, but it was amplified due to how well they were doing. On one night (10.21), I could not get out of my parking spot for 10 minutes. Traffic wasn't moving. So I got out and went back into the building to wait. Luckily I was able to watch a streamer on Twitch to keep me busy. Half an hour later, the roads were clear for me to finally leave work around 11:30PM.

And then the following Saturday was just Hell (10.28). Stuff happened and I was overall frustrated. Not going into here. As I tweeted out, that day can go away.

- And this month's blog was written by Agent X (10.31).

=========================

- Years ago, I had a dream about one of the SNSD members dying. On 10.16, I had a dream that revisited that dream. In this one, myself and other SNSD members were aware of what was going to happen and tried to see if we could stop it. We were not able to. She kept dying if we tried to alter things. It was very strange.

- TWICE - One More Time (MV)

- TWICE - LIKEY (MV)

I really like Likey. Found myself learning the dance (casually). Momo and Sana definitely have the top 2 spots for my favorite TWICE members on lock.

- My best friend started texting me late at night (10.28). I could tell something was wrong, but in the end, we exchanged a lot of heartfelt words. We both have been through many things ever since knowing each other and what we said was something we both needed to hear/read. It came at a good time especially for me considering all the stress I've felt lately. I miss her. Can't wait for the next time I see her and her daughter.

- That's all for October 2017. Thank you for reading.

September 2017 Entry

September 2017 Entry

Sorry for the late update. Things have been busy.

=========================

- Thanks to those that remembered. I went out with a friend to Kula Sushi (09.02). It's a conveyor belt sushi place. A friend works there, but she wasn't there that day. After that, we went to a nearby Target to walk and talk (a place with nice a/c) before I went to be bold.

- I went to the dentist for the first time in many years (09.06). Yeah...I don't recall the last time I've had a dentist appointment. Funny enough, one of my aunts was leaving when I arrived so I know how I was recommended the place, ha. This was very nostalgic. All the sounds, tools (although there are some cool new ones now), the feeling of pain, etc. I used to want to be a dentist when growing up since I used to visit them a lot. The deep clean felt good, but I was a little loopy and tired afterwards. I will be returning in December to fix one of my molars. Then another future date will be set to fix one of my crowns.

- Shredder VS Silver Samurai - Death Battle

- My preorders for the SNSD and Jessica albums (10th anniversary for both) arrived (09.09).

- Bought a copy of Batman and Harley Quinn (09.09). Didn't like it that much. A little too humorous than I would have liked. Not only that, I learned that my blu-ray player program doesn't work anymore (can't update it for some reason). The laptop lasted for a good 6+ years.

- The Mae Young Classic finished (09.12). My pick won. And it's awesome that I will get to see her compete for the vacant NXT Women's Championship at the next TakeOver. Overall, the tournament was amazing. I do hope some of these women get picked up by WWE and are showcased properly. It would be good to add more to all of the women divisions.

- Saw someone post the trailer for the Ranma 1/2 OVA & Movie Collection (09.30). I had no idea about it. It is definitely on my wish list. The current plan is to order it for a Christmas present to myself.

=========================

- Game Theory: How Zelda Breath of the Wild SOLVES The Zelda Timeline!

- While I beat Sonic Mania with Sonic back at the end of August, I wasn't sure if I was going to bother playing the other character campaigns or not. But I had a lot of extra free time so I decided to do so (09.10). I beat the game with Knuckles and then Tails and collected all the Chaos Emeralds for both.

- Nintendo Direct (09.13)

- I purchased Metroid: Samus Returns along with the amiibo that were tied to it (09.15). I unfortunately lost the key chain 24 hours later. Some stuff fell off my desk and it launched the key chain into a pile of other stuff that I did not bother looking through. I didn't play the game until the 18th and I beat the game early October. You can read about it in next month's entry.

- While out on a Sunday, I decided to go to Dave & Busters to kill time (09.17). DDRA was up and working so I played 3 songs. The photo you see posted was from my second song. I don't normally full combo a song so I was surprised.

Afterwards, I was bold again.

- Game Sleuth: Secret Enemy Fight in Final Fantasy VII?

=========================

- HER finally reopened (09.02). The word that went around for a while was "normalcy" and it was good to see that we were all getting back to it.

- Another new silly video; What Not To Do Around Your TV (09.03).

- Our first monthly meeting after Harvey took place (09.05). The main frustration was picking up the food as it took 2 hours. Thankfully Agent Widdershins came along with me as I would have been highly upset had I gone alone. But it was a fun meeting. There was a lot of video sharing afterwards with one featuring Agent Striker being the highlight.

- We finally announced that we had been working with Rice University in an effort to create internships for creating escape rooms. The downside to that was that Agent Coda had to resign from the company due to conflict of interest (09.06). We knew that it was a high possibility, but it was official. The thing is, it's a great opportunity for her and HER. We threw her a surprise going away party at work. She won't be a stranger, but she will be missed.

- Our planned activity for our company meeting was to go to Honey Art Cafe for a painting session. They emailed us in August to do a trade for them coming to HER. Due to Hurricane Harvey, we had to delay things. But we finally went to do it (09.12). The one thing I mention to the staff is that at first we were all being normal and joking around. But there was a point where everyone was quiet and concentrating on their creations. I'm glad that everyone enjoyed themselves.

- Soon after Agent Coda left us, Agent Ca$h also had to announce her leave from the company. The hurricane wasn't too kind on her so decision had to be made (not to go into the details). We threw her a surprise farewell party a few days before her final day. I missed that unfortunately due to being sick, but made sure to be there for her last day (09.22). Similarly to Agent Coda, she will not be a stranger and she will be missed.

- And September's blog was written by Agent Oculus.

=========================

- Yoona - When The Wind Blows (MV)

- My mom had emergency heart surgery (09.11). Initially, she had planned to have it in December, but she went to get a second opinion and get a check up. The doctors then said she needed to have it at that moment. I knew something was wrong as she and my dad were still gone from the check up that was early in the morning. I called and my dad filled me in on things before she was going in to surgery. While I wanted to go there, he told to stay home. Hours later, he called and let me know the surgery was successful. There were some complications, but she pulled through. She would be out of it that night so dad came home to prepare things and rest.

The next morning, I went with my dad to visit. The first image I saw of her was in bed with so many machines, wires, and tubes connected to her and it was hard to bare. Even though things were fine, I broke down. I asked the nurse on hand to just explain everything so I could know. When she was awake, it was tough communicating with her as she couldn't talk and it was hard to read her handwriting. Plus when she groaned and moaned in pain or if the machines started beeping, I would immediately worry.

After that first visit, I went to work. That's how it was for the couple of weeks she was in the hospital. I went to visit her early, I went to work, and I went home. On my days off, I would swap with my dad so he can go home, wash up, cook, and do anything else he needed to while I was watching mom in the hospital. He was doing all that he could for her and I can't imagine the toll it put on him and how he felt. I was low on energy, lost lots of sleep, and even got sick during this time. I did let management know what was going on (not the full details at first) in case I had to not go in to work and they were understanding. Slowly I had been telling other coworkers. No one could tell anything was wrong while I was at work though. I actually haven't told a lot of friends yet either. Just kept it to myself.

The great thing was that my mom improved as the days went by. Originally, I was going to be very detailed about each day, but that is a lot to relive. Just know that there were troubles each day, but like I mentioned, she got better each day. Tubes, wires, and machines were removed, she was able to talk like normal and be more active, and more good things.

A special thank you to all the doctors and nurses that helped her. Especially to Nurse Bridgette as she was my mom's and my favorite nurse that she had.

Mom did stay longer than anticipated as her heart beat wasn't returning to normal without the help of machines. She did have a pacemaker installed in the end. Coincidentally, she was able to finally come home on my dad's birthday and was home on her birthday days later. She has been getting better and stronger day by day. I will give updates in future posts for sure. As for now, she is home and recovering and is doing okay.

- That's all for September. Thank you for reading.

August 2017 Entry

August 2017 Entry

August, here we go.

=========================

- Caught up on NXT: TakeOver Brooklyn III (08.19) the day after (as usual) and that was a great event. Great matches and surprises all around made for a fun watch.

- And SummerSlam (08.20) was also fun. Some of the matches were a little blah, but everything else was so good.

- I enjoyed the Cricket Wireless video John Cena made last year. This new video (08.21) that followed up on it pulled on the heartstrings.

- Speaking of John Cena, his promo with Roman Reigns (08.28) was highly entertaining.

- The Mae Young Classic started (08.28). Round 1 had some great matches especially the final match between Kairi Sane and Tessa Blanchard. I'm excited to see more of these women get signed by the WWE. Other than Kairi Sane, my other pick is Toni Storm.

=========================

- I completed the last set of trials for the Trial of the Sword (08.06). A walkthrough did help with planning ahead of time. It was tough (and I lost my touch of reflecting lasers with my shield), but it was a great test.

After that, I beat the game one more time to take the last couple photos I needed for the compendium. Other than upgrading all of the armor and playing on hard mode, I have done everything there is to do in Breath of the Wild. Can't wait for the next round of DLC to come out.

- It's cool to see that Apollo Justice is getting a rerelease (08.09). I know that it wasn't a favorite among many, but I enjoyed it. It will be fun to play through it a second time.

- Agent Blue and I had been planning to do a completionist run of Shovel Knight for a while now, but it kept getting delayed due to outside factors. But it finally happened (08.13). Unbeknownst to us, we actually had it on gender swap mode so we were confused on some of the dialogue in the beginning, ha. It did take about as long as I thought it would, but we did it; 100% complete.

- A big box was waiting for me at home after a day of work. It was my collector's edition of Sonic Mania (08.15). It's very dang cool looking. Unfortunately, I don't have much room to display it so it remains in its box.

But playing Sonic Mania itself, wow, so nostalgic and fun. It is a must for any fan of Sonic. I did beat it not too long after (08.25). I also went back and collect all of the Chaos Emeralds to get the true Sonic ending. Did I play it again with other characters? You'll find out in next month's entry. But if you already follow me Facebook or Twitter, you already know, ha.

- The DLC for Shantae: Half-Genie Hero came out (08.29). Pirate Queen's Quest puts you in the boots of Risky Boots as you see what she did during the events of Half-Genie Hero. Did a completionist run of this and enjoyed it.

I wasn't sure if I was going to double dip on this game and get it for the Switch like I did with Shovel Knight, but I want to wait for a physical copy if it ever comes out. For now, I only spent the $10 to get the DLC on the Wii U.

- The Nintendo Switch Nindies Showcase Summer 2017 was a good watch (08.30). It's very cool to see great third party developers bringing some great games to the Switch soon. Out of what they showed, I'm looking forward to Super Meat Boy Forever (maybe), Shovel Knight: King of Cards (definite as well as the new amiibo), Floor Kids (maybe), and Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes (Hell yes).

=========================

- After another company meeting, our company activity was to go to another escape room (08.02). My personal record is now 17 wins out of 22 escape rooms.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BXlKTJ-lc2q/?taken-by=houstonescaperoomhttps://www.instagram.com/p/BXlKTJ-lc2q/?taken-by=houstonescaperoom

- Our latest in a series of videos released. Enjoy 5 Brilliant Ways To Open A Lock featuring Agent Widdershins.

- A friend to the owner came to HER not too long ago. His wife ended up writing a blog about us (08.07). That's always nice to see others talk about us.

- I have now been at the Houston Escape Room for 3 years (08.09). I had my yearly evaluation soon after (08.16). It did not go as well as anticipated. It wasn't completely bad, but I really did not feel good after it and for a couple weeks.

I did have a meeting with the owner about the new direction we are taking our social media, but it ended up being a bit of a therapy session. I shed some tears as I was able to vent some frustrations and he helped me feel better about things. Someone like him is hard to find as he will always strive to lift anyone up. Thank you, Agent Raynor.
- For now, the last Hunks of HER (08.15).

https://www.instagram.com/p/BX0nFNSFf6V/?taken-by=houstonescaperoomhttps://www.instagram.com/p/BX0nFNSFf6V/?taken-by=houstonescaperoom

- A few days after Hurricane Harvey, I went to check on HER (08.30). My dad came with me. It was also the first day outside after the natural disaster so it was interesting to see how things were in town. The ride there was fine. There was only one road closed on the way there and the way back.

Thankfully, we didn't have any major damage. The place smelled bad and one of the lights in one of the escape rooms was hanging low. The worst was our basement having some flood damage. I was told a couple days later by our neighbors that there was at least 500 gallons of water collectively removed from the basement. That's crazy.

- And this month's blog was penned by Agent Blue-Heeler (08.31).

=========================

- SNSD - Holiday (MV)

- SNSD - All Night (MV)

- Jessica - Summer Storm (MV)

- BoA - CAMO (SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR VI)

- One thing I did not mention in the work section of this blog entry is about a customer (08.11). She was gorgeous and I was facilitating her session. At first it was just her and her 2 friends as the other strangers signed up for the session were late. So they I offered Casual Mode, which they said they would think about it. And yes, they were her friends as I sometimes ask how teams know each other in the briefing room. One thing I noticed for sure was her wonderful smile. In the room, I did notice how hot she really was. Breathtaking.

The other two late customers came in and joined after about 10 minutes. By that time, the team already wanted to move on to Casual Mode. That gave me the opportunity to interact with her more. I actually didn't help her first (helped her friend). But I did look for the any chances there were. I did notice that she had an accent (Brazilian). As time passed, I knew I could not let her leave without saying something to her.

In the lobby, they did ask if there was anything close by to go to. I walked out with them to point out what was near by, which I've done for other customers in the past. We did exchange some pleasantries (found at she was the one that wanted to come to HER). And then they were on their way...and I had not said anything to her. In a last ditch effort, I called out to her and commented on her accent again. Then I looked at her friends and bluntly said "Sorry, but I'm trying to hit on your friend and I'm really bad at it." Everyone laughed. Then her friend said that it was okay and that I can talk to her while they moved their cars. I was nervous and she was smiling and giggling the whole time. Asked her on a date, she had just got out of a relationship. So we exchanged numbers before she rejoined her friends. That was the happiest I had been in a long time. Unfortunately, she never responded to my texts afterwards, but it was incredibly memorable.

- And there is no way I could not mention Hurricane Harvey (08.25). We closed HER from that weekend at least. That weekend grew to a week. I was relieved that everyone from work made it out okay. Not to say that none of them had suffered anything from it, but I'm glad it wasn't worse.

As for my home, my family knew from past flooding that we would be fine. The house is on high elevation. While the street flooded, it never touched us. The only problems we had was losing power for 2 hours the first Saturday and the internet for an hour the following day.

Kept myself busy by checking in on friends and family (those that needed to evacuate did). I watched a lot of YouTube (got into Super Beard Bros). And I played games (beat Sonic Mania and Pirate Queen's Quest). Other than that, it was great to see Houston pull together.

- And that is it for August. It definitely had its ups and downs. Everyone, stay strong.
