December 2016 Blog Entry

December 2016 Blog Entry

2016 comes to a close.

=========================

- I ordered a barrel of Cheese Balls (12.02.16). It had been years since I actually had any and they were one of my favorite snacks as a child. It took a while to finish (12.24.16). I tried to keep count as I ate them 25 at a time, but I know I forgot at points. But a count of 671 sounds about right.

- Hung out with a long time friend before going to watch Smackdown (12.06.16). It was good catching up with him. Met up with another friend at Smackdown. Brought my replica Smackdown Women's title with me for the first time. The show was good. Unfortunately, it sucked to see that 205 Live was kind of boring. Plus a lot of people left after Smackdown not knowing there was another show after even though it was announced. I really think they should do 205 Live first and then Smackdown. Otherwise, the live show was fun.

Christmas time was busier than it was the last few years. I can't recall the last time I saw both sides of the family for the holidays. Christmas Eve was spent with mom's side. One of my cousin's son had a lot of fun asking me a bunch of wrestling questions once he found out I watch wrestling. It was small and cozy. Christmas Day was at my dad's side. Lots of people showed up here. Lots of laughs and gift giving. Both sides of the family provided delicious food and I gained a little gut along with presents, ha.

- The problems with Running Man...was not handled well. Ultimately, the show is going to be cancelled after February. It will be sad to see the show go away especially since it is my favorite Korean variety show. I'll reminisce about the show after the final episode, but I'm going to enjoy the last few times this cast is together.

=========================

- Posted it last month, but I officially ended my activity with my WingedVoX Gaming account. The final month, I would schedule anything on Facebook every hour if possible. But it felt good to finally stop using this account.

- Got the set of Zelda amiibo that was released (12.04).

- After making multiple purchases on ThinkGeek, I used my GeekPoints to get myself Zelda Monopoly. Don't know if I'll ever open it though. It is still in its wrapping ever since it arrived (12.11).

- Went with Agent Blue and his friend to see Game Grumps Live (12.17). The sucky part was that we were caught in traffic looking for parking and arrived late. Apparently we missed Ross opening the show. Regardless, the show was still fun. They played Mario Party 10 and had the audience be players 3 and 4. We were in a section for player 3 and were Toad. They had different volunteers go up to play the minigames on behalf of their team. We had some solid players except our last one who totally blew it (didn't listen to the rules or not know which character he was...he was was just bad). Then they held a Q&A afterwards to close the show and sang one of their StarBomb songs as we were leaving. Fun night.

- My last video game purchase of 2016 was for Shantae 1/2 Genie Hero (12.27). I didn't get it release day because the date kept changing, but I did make sure to get it eventually.

- The latest 12.31 Super Replay from Game Informer is Sonic The Hedgehog. When I first saw the OverBlood group mention it, I thought they meant the original Genesis version. Nope. Sonic '06. Wow, it has been hilarious so far. Can't wait for more episodes.

=========================

- I'm pretty sure this a yearly tradition alongside Halloween. We had our rules rewritten with a Christmas theme (12.01).

- The monthly meeting happened as usual (12.06), but this was the first one I missed. Had my tickets for Smackdown months in advance.

- We now sell merchandise at HER. Along with gift vouchers, which we have been selling for years, we sell some board games and shirts.

- For the holidays, we did a bunch of random giveaways. It was a good test to see how fast these codes get eaten up on various social media platforms.

- We had our last Facebook Live of the year (12.15). Agents Blue, Solaire, Ocean, and I demonstrated one of the games we were selling called Otrio. We played 5 rounds and ended up with one draw and each of us picking up a victory. It was one of our most watched live broadcasts, it was impromptu, and it was fun.

- On the day Agent Blue and I saw Game Grumps Live, we also invited other Agents to do an escape room with us before the show (12.17). Other than myself and Agent Blue, Agents Husky Panda, Raynor, PQ, and Majordomo joined us as we set another record for escaping. That actually marked my 20th escape room and 16th escape.

- Two big events happened in one day (12.19). First, Agent Obsidian and I ran a surprise wedding proposal. The funny part was that the proposee was expecting a proposal from her man, but just didn't know when. She said yes making it our 4th successful wedding proposal.

After that, Agent Obsidian and I started to prepare for the Company Holiday Party. Plans had been boiling for weeks and the day was finally here. Other than good people and good food, we had our Voting Certificate Award Show and White Elephant. The night ended with DDR and karaoke. I was pretty stressed out throughout the party, but it was great to see everyone have a great time. I especially liked taking a few Agents away to give them their Christmas presents and seeing their reactions.

- A fun project that came out of a random conversation with several Agents was the 12 Days At HER. I was worried not everyone would want to participate especially since the number was exact, but I'm glad that everyone was willing to do something this silly.

- During the last week of December, we opened up a ton of sessions. Pretty much our weekdays were as filled as our weekends. It was great seeing so many people book these sessions for the holidays, but we were running tired. Some of our team had already been out for vacation and we had one sick so there were no substitutes. I know we all did our part to make things run as smooth as possible. I know I did a lot of solo resets and that was draining. But we did it.

- The December blog post was penned by Agent Husky Panda.

- And to cap things off, I was promoted to Personnel Manager.

=========================

- HyoYeon - Mystery (MV)

I was very surprised by HyoYeon's solo. I honestly thought out of all the SNSD members that she would be the last one to release a solo song. Mystery definitely showed how much she improved in all aspects as a performer. Proud of her.

- Jessica - Wonderland (MV)

It's unfortunate Jessica can't perform on music shows or be on variety shows. It would have been nice to see her back. Wonderland itself is a good song.

- Twice - Cheer Up (MV)

I knew about Twice, but didn't latch on to them. It took them being on Running Man a few times for them to grab my attention. After that, I started looking up other variety show appearances, started to learn their names, and then going back to watch their music videos and performances. My favorite son of theirs is Cheer Up and my favorite member is Momo.

- SES - Love [story] (MV)

SES - Remember (MV)

SES - I'm Your Girl + Remember (12.31)

It is amazing that I am seeing SES perform together again. I caught the latter half of their original run and thought I'd never see them again. But here we are with them releasing new songs and music videos. I could not help but smile watching them. There was an inkling of it when Shoo and Bada were together on Infinity Challenge (Eugene was pregnant so could not participate). Now the original trio is back. Thank you to Sea, Eugene, and Shoo.

- That's it for December and for 2016. This year went by fast and so many things happened. 2017 will definitely present more opportunities, more challenges, and more memories. As usual, thanks to everyone that read. Be healthy, be safe, be thankful, and be loved.
