November 2009 Entry

I kind of find it hard to believe that November went by so quickly. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been busy or maybe that time really is going faster than ever. I think when 2010 arrives, I’ll see a slowdown in time. And because of November going by, I really can’t recall that much that went on.

Work

I’m having very little to complain about work lately. And saying/typing that might break that streak. I just find it unbelievable. The only thing I can think of is that we didn’t get our annual Thanksgiving gift card to buy food. Yeah, we’re not making that much money like before, but I think the gift card was still something that everyone was expecting. Oh well.

On a plus, I found out I still have 6 days of vacation time. I know I will use 2 days next week by taking off Monday and Tuesday. I still need to figure out how to spread out the remaining 4 days.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii (review) - click

Other than the new Mario game, I also bought Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. I’m trying to finish that before The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories come out (another reason for taking off 2 days the following week). Out of those 2, I think I’ll try to finish Silent Hill first. I am thinking to bring Zelda to work and play that at least during my break time. That’s an hour of play there if I don’t eat…so it’ll be more like 50 minutes of play. I don’t like juggling games, but I have to do something to run through these games. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers comes out at the end of the year also. I’m actually going to be busy till the year ends so I’m hoping to at least beat one of the 2 games before Crystal Bearers comes out.

And speaking of Final Fantasy, I didn’t beat the one on Virtual Console. IF there was time, sure I’ll play it and try to beat it, but otherwise I’m just collecting it.

Thanksgiving

Didn’t do anything. Technically, I did do something. I went to work to do a favor for a coworker. I did get paid for my time there. All I did was set up a wedding to be captured and made sure it finished. Then I put it to DVD and made sure it finished. During that time I was playing the new Mario game.

Actually, I also got all of my Christmas shopping done that day, too. Online shopping only. There is one element I have to buy still to complete the gifts, but I’ll wait until those come in.

I also bought myself a little cheap tripod from Walmart. It’s not bad, but does feel like it would break easily. It’s cheap so it feels cheap. I was trying to get the exact tripod I already have, but no Best Buy had it in stock when I was checking earlier in the week. By the way, I did pass by a Best Buy just to see if it was open. People had already started camping out for Black Friday and it was 4PM. I guess some people just skip Thanksgiving altogether and just get ready to shop.

Thanksgiving is not really a holiday I like. I just have a few bad memories of past Thanksgivings. I don’t mind going to see family, but if I do nothing on Thanksgiving then I’ll be okay with that also.

Miscellaneous

Happy November birthdays. NSREMBTDWC was fun to play with others. And Spot Light was fun. Saw a few people I had not seen in a while and just had a good time in general.

Forgot to show the video I made for the 2nd KT Anniversary.

I recently bought a wireless microphone for my HD cameras. I was worried about how it would turn out since it was fairly cheap. Not only that, it did send a lot of static when listening to the audio being recorded while filming. Thankfully I was able to try it out and it turned out better than I expected. The static I heard during the time of recording was pretty much non-existent after exporting the video. Good stuff. I still do wish for a better one. The kinds that you see used on TV are the ones I want and those can run about $500 depending on the brand. They are good though. They definitely have a better looking/feeling mic on them.

It has been busy lately. The final month of December will be no different. Still have a few things that are hush-hush. One of them does involve the upcoming XMAS Bash. Big plans for that and I’ll be bringing a lot of stuff that night (games, gifts, etc).

I’d like to congratulate Andrew and Wyldstyl at the soft opening of their new studio. It was a fun time there seeing them perform along with others. Good luck in all your future endeavors and I hope to see a lot more from all of you.

Girls’ Generation

Yay for SNSD. I did mention last month that I’m finding it harder to find things to say about them and it’s still true. I just enjoy them and have been enjoying them for all of this year. They can always bring a smile to my face and make me forget any troubles.

That is something I will talk about though. I am all about needing to vent about frustrations, but I’ve been changing how I feel about how to go about it. I honestly haven’t vented too much lately about anything mostly because I’ve been letting things go. Usually they’re small and I don’t see why it would be beneficial for me to vent about all the little things that are bothering me. If they were bigger issues, then I’d need to say something or do something about it. I don’t see what complaining about small things accomplishes. You waste your breath and your time and possibly someone else’s time. I want to say that I’ve been thinking this way for a better part of the year and I think that’s why I don’t have much to complain about. I’ve told people before that if you have something to complain about (big or small), I would hope to at least hear about something good happening in your life (big or small). If all you have in your life are complaints and negativity then you probably should do something to fix that. I don’t like being around negativity all the time and always being negative is not a healthy way of expression either.

Anyways, I’m not going to ramble too much about it, but I hope I think I’ve been clear. It’s easier to explain in actual discussion (so feel free to ask me about it if you want to know more) and it makes it sound less like complaining. But this does tie in with SNSD. They are that constant positive I’ve had in my life throughout the year. I don’t get to see my friends and some family every day, but these 9 girls are always there whether it be the videos I watch of them or the music they sing that I listen to daily. There have been other musicians in my life over the years that had done the same thing that SNSD is doing for me now (BoA, CSJH, BabyVoX, etc), but SNSD is in my present and I can count on them to make me feel happy or forget the things that are bothering me and I am thankful for them and the others in life that bring anything positive in my life.

Please enjoy the following clips from a new Korean variety show, Strong Heart. In these clips, Yoona is (jokingly and against her will) involved in a 4-Way Love Square. I found it to be hilarious.

And also enjoy this other clip from the same show. Also very hilarious.

Take care. Mmbyeeeee.

October 2009 Entry

I’m actually on schedule this time. I do remember throughout this past week that I need to start typing this out or else I’d forget and linger on to the following month. So here we go.

Work

For this final week of October, I will be in shipping since Gerry is in Mexico to hold a Qunicenera for his daughter. It’s a nice change of pace and so far only one day has been hectic/back breaking. It also gave me time to type this entry out.

Also for this last week of October, most of management was out for vacation/shows. It was very nice and relaxing around the office. Quiet, too.

Not much else has been going on work-wise that is a big deal. I just do my thing and keep doing it well. I have gotten a few bits of thanks/recognition for the work I’ve been doing so that has to be a plus that they realize my value here. A raise/bonus would be nice, but we haven’t fully recovered from our low fluctuation of orders coming in.

Health Related

My wrist is fine. Maybe every now and then I’d get some pains, but that is if I am excessively active with it. Odd thing though, I would usually feel the pains AFTER taking the prescribed medicine for it. That bottle is almost done with anyways.

Had a follow-up on my ear. It’s fine. I had a bit of a gripe about that day though. Had to leave work hours early for it (3 hours taken out of vacation time). Then I waited in the waiting room for 20 minutes before being taken into the doctor’s room. Waited in the doctor’s room for 15 minutes for the doctor. He took a look and asked questions and then I was out in 5 minutes. Doctor’s bill plus parking fee plus losing 3 hours of work meant a negative in money and time. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad nothing is wrong with my ear now, but that day was very blah because of that.

Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story (Review) - click

I did also receive a free game from Club Nintendo in the form of “Doc Louis’ Punch-Out!!” That doesn’t deserve a review in my opinion. It was a free gift and it had enough content to warrant it as being a free gift. You just play/spar against Doc Louis…that’s it. This seems like something that could’ve just been on the “Punch-Out!!” game itself. It was either this or a free Mario Hat that is actually a piece of decoration and not a real hat. I would’ve been fine with that also, but that hat seems like it would be sold at one point in the future. Might as well get the one-time free downloadable game.

I’m currently playing “Final Fantasy” on the Virtual Console. Memories. The game is as hard as I remember it. I’m not even that far in it, but I’ve been spending most of my game time gaining levels and gil and does it take a long time. That’s what I like about this game. Not only does it bring back memories, but it kicks my butt and is challenging. I know I won’t finish this game anytime soon especially since I have a good 3-5 games lined up for November and a few more in December…and even a few in January. “Final Fantasy” will be played in my spare time, but it’s not a game I’m in a rush to finish.

Philippines

My parents went on vacation to the Philippines at the beginning of October and have recently returned. While they were gone, I ate most of the leftovers (till they went bad), fried up eggrolls my dad left for us (till I got tired of eating them), made myself Spamwiches (till there were no more), and ate out more. It was definitely a lot quieter around the house, which was nice.

There was something odd that happened though. Ever since they left, I was waking up once a night around the same time. That’s nothing new to me. It happens every now and then, but this time it was every day. Not only that, but I was also waking up before my alarm every day. Although once I told a friend about this, it stopped happening. She questioned if it may be an insecurity thing with my parents gone and I wouldn’t doubt it. Maybe mentioning it to her just triggered my brain to stop doing that.

It was nice to see them when they returned. Eating a home cooked meal was so good. I felt very satisfied eating my dad’s cooking again. They took a camera that I don’t use anymore with them for pictures. I exported all of the photos and took a look at them myself…kind of guessing why they were doing things and where they were and who they were with. The next day, my mom wanted to see them and then she started giving explanations as to what was going on. I want to say I was 50% right with my guessing. Seeing familiar faces was nice, but there were a ton of them that I didn’t know (most being little kids). It looked like they had fun and my mom made sure to share stories for almost every picture…twice, ha (she went backwards through the photos after the first time around). Anyways, nice to have them back.

Miscellaneous

Happy October birthdays. Karaoke for Andrew’s birthday was interesting.

Movies I saw recently:

Marly & Me (liked)

Couples’ Retreat (was alright, glad it was free)

Latest Video Project – Guitar Heroes???

Happy 10th Anniversary to m-flo. I bought his M-F10 album and it is a great collection of his hits spanning from when Lisa was with the group to current collaborations. The DVD that came with it was a great time capsule of MVs and concert clips. I’ll be buying his Cosmicolor concert on DVD sometime soon because it just looks like it was really good. And the tribute album also done where other artists sang m-flo songs was really good and highly recommended to any m-flo fans as well as M-F10.

I recently acquired a second HD camera. A coworker ended up buying the exact same model I have. He loves it, but actually caused some cosmetic damage to it while trying to connect one his high powered lights to it. He ended up getting another one of it at a highly reduced price and was looking to sell the damaged one. I was very interested and asked to test it out to make everything else functioned properly. Other than the cosmetic damage, the eyepiece doesn’t work. That’s a minor issue to me. So for a very cheap price, I now own 2 HD cameras. Sweet stuff. I’ve always wanted to do video projects with at least 2 camera views and once I have some time, I’ll put that to practice. I recently have done a 2 camera recording, but the final product for that will come later after more footage is attained. And, as I’ve told a few people already, I won’t mind handing the already damaged camera around for others to use during events. I was, and still am, overprotective of the one I bought, but the second one already has damage to it so I don’t mind it being in the hands of others.

BoA’s latest single is out, “Bump Bump!” This is such a fun song. I’ve added it to my exercise routine and it’s what I end on. The song is very fun and energetic and it’s great to see her do this style of music especially after her last few English videos. This, to me, is a return to form for her after trying the American scene for a while. BoA also has an MV out for doing the title of the game “Tales of Graces.” The song is called “White Wishes” and the song and video are wonderful. I especially like the part in the MV where she does a hand gesture (around 0:45). That stood out a lot to me. The video just sets the right mood for me.

Girls’ Generation

Almost a year. I do find myself finding less to say about them, but they have stopped their promotions for “Genie” for a while now.

I remember having a dream with some of them recently, although I can’t remember what actually happened in that dream. Must not been as big a deal as the one involving them that was like an RPG.

I did take part in a project where I used one of their songs (Himnae/Way To Go) to perform to. I even dressed somewhat similar to how they dressed when they promoted “Gee.” I think I could’ve done better, but that was during such a busy time.

After this year is over, I’ll end my posts with something other than something SNSD related unless it was something I really wanted to share.

This time I’ll leave with a cute clip of them from a shoot for Meiro Beauty.

Take care. Mmbyeeeee.
