April 2019 Entry

April 2019 Entry

Man, April seemed like a long month. Let's get that recap in.

=========================

- I haven't had KFC in a long time so I went to get some (04.03). Went through the drive-thru to order. It took a little longer than I remember waiting the last time. When they handed me my order, it was a lot more than I thought I would be getting and I even said that to the worker. They said something along the lines of "dont' worry about it." When I got home and unpacked it all, I pretty much had about 3x as much than what I ordered. I just wanted wanted chicken strips, but was given tons of mashed potatoes and actual pieces of chicken. It was way too much for me alone so I brought the rest to work the following day. That was just an awesome thing to have happen.

- My parents returned from their cruise (04.07). They told me the wrong day though. Mom told me the day according to where they were and not home. It's a good thing I had the day off due to Wrestlemania in order for me to pick them up from my aunt's.

- While I have not watched all the movies in the MCU, I did want to make sure to see Captain Marvel (04.26). I was worried they would make her appear too powerful, which she is normally portrayed, but the movie told her story really well.

- I had bought Justice League VS The Fatal Five when it came out (04.16). Didn't get around to watching it until the end of the month (04.27). It was really good. Even when I bought it, the worker said it's a good one and he was right. I definitely recommend this one.

- Friends gathered to watch Avengers: Endgame (04.28). It was a late showing so we didn't get until about 1AM and I didn't get home until 1:30AM. Endgame was wonderful. The action, the comedy, all the superheros on display, it was made really well and paid off what started over 10 years ago with the first Iron Man movie. If I were watching this one alone, I probably would have cried a lot during the last hour. The crowd we had was great during the big moments (but screw those guys that were dumb at the beginning and that threw some trash over our heads). Definitely recommend this movie.

=========================

- Caught up on NXT TakeOver: New York (04.05). Didn't see it live, but stayed up late at night to watch it. All the matches were great as always. Got 3 out of 5 predictions correct. I shed tears twice. Once was between Kairi Sane and Io Shirai. The other time was at the end of the main event. Great night of wrestling.

Wrestlemania 35 was one of the better Wrestlemanias in recent history (04.07). It was also a long one too. Originally I was going to a friend's place to watch, but I wasn't feeling that well that day so I stayed home. Probably good because of the mix up of my parents returning that day. Got 7 out of 16 predictions right. Shed tears here as well for the Women's Tag Title match, the WWE Title match, and the Women's main event.

=========================

- The Smash Pro Controller was available online so I ordered one. I had been looking to get a second Pro Controller for possible future playing with others. It came in (04.09) and it is pretty sleek. The design is great and the analog sticks feel looser. Not that the original one was bad, but this one definitely felt new.

- Started playing Final Fantasy VII at the end of March and finally finished it in April (04.10). There was a small delay as I was working more and Wrestlemania weekend was happening. So I decided to start streams earlier at noon instead of at one to get an extra hour of play time. It was great being in this world again and remembering things. Even the things I forgot were awesome to come back to.

The only frustrating thing that happened was trying to breed a gold chocobo. I followed steps laid out by FAQs and it wasn't working. Thankfully Kenchien22 and Zoukiji helped me out with it and it happened. I also tried to do as much as I could with the side quests. The only things I couldn't do were beat Emerald and Ruby Weapon since I was under-leveled.

A great thing to note was the amount of viewers that came in to watch the end of the game. It was also cool to get my first sub bomb (5) courtesy of smajere. Definitely ended the stream on a high note. And I will say that Final Fantasy VII still holds up. The quality of life options of x3 speed and others made things even better.

- Conducted a new Demo Showcase (04.12). We played Daemon X Machina: Prototype Missions, Mugsters, The Path of Motus, Pocket Academy, and Timberman VS. All were actually good. It was the first time I didn't have a clear cut winner. Ultimately went with The Path of Motus because of the puzzles. And I also added Timberman VS because I knew if someone was trying it out with me, it would've clearly been the top favorite. About a week later, Timberman VS was on sale for 19 cents (90% off) and I downloaded it immediately.

- Twitch started a new policy where payouts would happen twice a month. I received my first Twitch payout ever (04.17). I was surprised to see it. Double Take and I talked about why I had not received one yet and then it happens a few days later, ha. I didn't have any plans with what to do with it other than it would go back to the stream. More on that later.

- The next big stream of the month was Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney. Considering I felt behind because of the busy work schedule and Wrestlemania weekend, I made it a goal to beat the first game in the trilogy in one week (04.15-04.19). I'm glad I was able to pull it off. My favorite stream had to be the first one as there were quite a few people that were new to the game and were getting into who did it and how to go about it. The only stressful thing about the entire stream was doing voice acting for about 7 hours each time. I never lost my voice, but my throat was sore after each stream. It was great being back in this world and I can't wait to play Justice For All and Trials & Tribulations later this year. Fun face, I beat this game on the 3DS around the same time last year.

- Picked up my copy of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster (04.16). Started streaming it on the last day of April. It's great coming back to the world of Spira after 18 years (and I forgot a lot of stuff, ha).

- I did run my second stream of Phoenix Wright short because Double Take was on the front page of Twitch (04.16). Me and a bunch of other mods were there at the ready. They were so fast with their bans, ha. But seeing all the support that they got during their 2 hours on the front page was amazing. They deserved the honor.

- New amiibo (04.16). I decided to stop mentioning how many I now had. It's still public and people could keep track if they wanted to. But I still have my own record of what I have.

- The Bubblegum Fatale DLC for Travis Strikes Again came out earlier than scheduled. I didn't play it right away, but started it on the 22nd and completed everything on the 23rd. I did it every time, but I am completely 100% complete with this game.

- Got my copy of Shantae and the Pirate's Curse and a shirt from Limited Run Games (04.20). The shirt is size small, but actually seems like a large. Glad to have a physical copy of it. Wanted one of the collector's editions, but missed out on them unfortunately. I'd be super bummed if I didn't get a copy at all.

- Originally I was going to play Punch-Out after Phoenix Wright, but I realized something and moved my schedule around. So for my 99th stream, I played Tetris 99 (04.24). I was worried it would be a lame stream because I'm not good at Tetris, but it was really fun and the viewers were getting into it. They really enjoyed my silly smack talk too, ha. Best I did was 7th place.

- And Punch-Out!! got moved to be the game I played for my 100th stream (04.26). I was hoping for more of a turnout, but I was glad anyone was there. And the fact that I actually beat Mr. Dream for the first time on stream was awesome.

- Got to play a lot of Mortal Kombat 11 with Double Take off stream (04.27). Definitely enjoyed it.

- And while we're on the topic of 100 streams, I also hit 7 months of being on Twitch (04.28). If those fell on the same day, that would have been neat. But being 100 streams in and 7 months deep is crazy. On my 100th stream, I did thank a few other streamers that came to mind, but there are so many other people that made all this possible. Thank you. As a gift for myself for hitting 100 streams, I decided to use my pay out to help pay for a new gaming chair (04.30). The box was incredibly heavy to get upstairs by myself. The plan was to build it downstairs and then bring it upstairs. Part way through my stream that day, I saw my dad building it. I really wanted to do it myself, but I'm thankful that he did. It's so good. My body is still getting used to it, but it's already more comfortable and definitely not squeaky. But thanks again to everyone that has helped me reach this milestone and getting something that benefits me in a lot of ways.

- Played and finished Katana ZERO (04.29). The game play was solid. The art style is great. The story...I was not expecting anything, but I was surprised in the direction it went. It was short and the game doesn't end on the highest of notes, but I really enjoyed it. I agree with mhientaye that watching someone speed run this game would be super cool (already suggested it to abomination1212). I wasn't sure if this was going to be a one-off or if I was going to keep playing it to 100%. But after playing it, it seemed that there wasn't much to do other than see other dialogue trees. I did replay one part after getting the main ending to see the "bad" ending. And I also finally found some videos talking about secrets in the game and saw a secret boss I could have encountered. But I can do that when the DLC to comes out.

- I don't think I've recommended a streamer since the end of the year. But I want to recommend that you check out Supershigi. I knew of her from a long time ago through YouTube. She did covers of video game tunes, produced her own songs for games, and even produced her own game called Rakuen. She recently started streaming on Twitch and I've caught them when I could or would even watch the VODs after. She will play some of her tunes live, mood flip songs, take requests, and more. Her community is absolutely amazing. There are a few other streamers that are partnered that I'm a part of with awesome communities, but I have never been part of one that is so positive and supportive as hers. She's cried on stream almost every time because of all the support she gets and deserves. In my last stream of the new Travis Strikes Again DLC, I talked about her a lot and even played some of her YouTube videos and her latest stream for others to hear. I can't recommend her enough to anyone. And apparently Rakuen might be coming to the Switch in the near future and you know I'll be playing that on stream if and when it does.

=========================

- Not much to report about work. Didn't have a company meeting and our second Dark Side of the Moon is up and running. Been doing a lot of organizing and cleaning to pass the time on slow days. I did get the chance to catch up with former Agent X as well as exchange texts with former Agent Ca$h who was getting a new job.

The History of BoA

TWICE - FANCY (MV)

Definitely liking their new single. I wasn't sure at first, but maybe that's what helped. But their performances have also been great along with their outfits and choreography (slowly learning). I wish they were promoting it more, but I am glad with what we got. This might be my new second favorite song of theirs (Likey being first). No song in particular was holding the second spot, but I can make it definitive now.

- And to my best friend, I've said it before and I'll say it again; any time and every time.

- That's it for April 2019. Thanks for reading and take care.
