September 2025 Entry

September 2025 Entry:

So many things happened and didn't happen this month.

MISC=========================

Shaved after 2 months (09.01). Other than the last time I went 200 days, the most I had ever gone without shaving was a month. The reason I decided to let it go longer was because you could see more of the greys in my beard and wanted to see how it would turn out. I didn't dislike it. It got to the point I needed to use my moustache comb. And only during the last week did I think to properly shampoo/condition it. Again, I didn't dislike it, but it felt good shaving it off. I did see how it looked with the mustache only and it wasn't bad. Maybe that's what I'll go with next time?

- Finally watched my copy of the TWICE 5TH WORLD TOUR "READY TO BE" Special In Japan blu-ray. I definitely had seen a few clips from this, but the majority was new for me, Great stuff. Seeing the stadium packed and how cool the light sticks looked when synced in that large crowd was incredible.

Later in the day I went to Ice Valley Boba. This was a place G and I were planning to check out a few months back. They dodged a bullet as this was not great. For a food place, not seeing anyone at the counter upon walking in already raised concerns. Then for both workers to disappear as soon as they were done, another bad note. I ordered a green apple and passion fruit combination slush and some popcorn chicken. I've had better. That was pretty much strike three. Not the worst boba place I've been to, but it's not one I would recommend. The thing is, this wasn't part of the original plan. The original plan was to get ice cream elsewhere with some friends, but one (out of two) of them had to unfortunately cancel as their vacation was extended (knew that the Sunday prior) and we planned to meet later in the month. Pivoted to this place as I was going to meet others instead. And then...they had a work emergency and were not able to leave when they had planned to meet me. Found that out while finishing the popcorn chicken. Texted back and forth in the parking lot just in case there was a way to salvage it, but there were no signs of them being able to leave at a decent hour. So I texted the other friend from the original plans to see if they were still available and they thankfully were.

Literal last minute plans to simply hang out. Met them around 8PM and they wondered what had happened. I explained and they felt bad, but made sure that we had fun. Nothing like sharing stories and having a few laughs along the way. Thank you.

Shower update: it is fixed (09.01-09.04). On the first of the month, a new person and their wife came in to look at things and start deconstructing the shower floor. They replaced/fixed the pipe to make the water flow better. They were there for about five hours total. The second day was about another five hours with them finishing with the main cement base. The third day was where they put in the new tiles and put back the shower doors. Of course they did one final test to see if any leaks were happening and there were none. They cleaned up and told us not to use the shower until about 8PM at night since the tiles were setting in. I used it the next morning and there were no leaks. It was great using that shower again after...three months. Thank you to those two for doing an excellent job.

AJ Lee returned to WWE (09.05). She was always a favorite during her tenure there and I remember being surprised when she retired at such a young age. I still followed her on social media so I knew what she was up to during her time away from the ring. While I was excited to hear her music play and to see her on TV, I didn't know I would tear up. Her mannerisms (skipping, head tilts, sitting on the ring rope, etc) were so familiar. It's like she didn't take time away and she slipped right back into things with ease. I ordered her new shirt right away (comes mid-October). Since then, I've watched many reaction videos of her return and it's wonderful. I am very excited to see what she does this time around.

- Received a health plan rebate check in the mail (09.07). Very unexpected. Never got one of those before. Deposited it a few days later before work. I almost immediately spent it on some stuff on eBay, but I asked for an offer on their whole lot and they never replied. Might just get a few items and still make offers.

Ended up hanging out with NRM and NE for dinner. There were plans for us and other HeXagon members to meet the next day, but NRM ended up getting called in to work and not everyone could meet the day before. But it was still a good time. Ate some good food at Hong Kong Food Court. None of us had never been there before, but we enjoyed it. It's still new so some of their items were sold out. Chilled for a bit before walking over to a claw game place and then to TEAA bymee. Walked around a little bit more with our drinks before splitting for the night.

- Tickets to Wendy's tour went live (09.11). Myself and other HeXagon members were contacting each other with what they got. The best I could find was for the second row, but I'd lose it since I wasn't fast enough. Anything I found after was 5th or farther. BL mentioned he had a second row on one of the sides and asked if I wanted it. I took him on that offer, but kept checking for tickets for NRM. Wasn't able to secure his since he needed two, but I was able to get a second row in the middle. I messaged BL about it pondering whether I should get it or not. He encouraged me to do so since it was good and I offered to help sell the other ticket he got or even pay for part of it if he ended up going. I secured mine and was set. BL messaged me later saying he sold his ticket to another HeXagon member and ended up getting his own ticket...next to me, ha. That was awesome news and got me super excited even more so. See you in November, Wendy.

The following Sunday (09.14), I was able to purchase a VIP ticket for the show. At first I was okay going for the cheaper option because I was mainly interested in the Soundcheck and High Wave. Some of the HeXagon members weren't big on the pricing and that's understandable. For me, I don't go to shows often so I could understand them knowing of better bang for the buck. But I was just hoping it wouldn't be more than the actual ticket I paid for. It was close, ha. Messaged with BL to see if they were still interested and they were and they were going for the more expensive option, but I figured to match him. Set up my account early in the day and left the web page open. Once it went live at 9PM, I immediately clicked purchase. I was 247th in line, ha. The number dwindled down faster than I expected and I was officially in about 5 minutes later. Then it was me verifying I was getting the correct thing for the correct city and filling in the necessary information. By 9:08PM, I was done, yay. Excited for my first High Wave and group photo.

But wait, there's more. About a week later (09.23), I got an email for a special offer for those that got the VIP Wonder; a 1:1 polaroid with Wendy. Whoa. Screenshot the email and sent it to BL and we both went in on it. I honestly didn't think I'd be paying more because I misread "purchase code" as "discount code" so I thought it would be less. I wish that this extra was part of the original VIP Wonder package. I am paying a lot for this concert, wow (not even because of merchandise the day of the concert). But I did have some extra money that wasn't spent due to some cancellations so this is pretty much paying for that. Wendy, I'm all in.

- Finally watched Ranma 1/2 on Netflix (09.01-09.12). Getting the negatives out of the way; I couldn't get into the opening and ending themes. More for the opening theme. Never skipped them to give them a chance, but I couldn't hum either to anyone. Everything else is great. I like how stylized it gets (especially during fights or comedic scenes). The pacing is definitely faster as characters have already appeared when they usually aren't there until later seasons. The stories are still familiar, but I like the new interpretation of them. I don't need it to be 1:1 or not faithful at all to the source material so I like that they're doing it right. And it's simply nostalgic seeing all these characters again. Ready for season two (which I'm still debating to watch right away or wait).

- New shirt; KPOP Demon Hunters (09.13). Maybe the first of future KPOP Demon Hunters merchandise, don't know yet. I don't want anything KPOP Demon Hunters as there's a lot that I'm choosing not to get. I just really liked the design on this one.

- We had a power outage (09.15). It lasted for about an hour starting at 6PM. Original outage report said the power would be back by 9:15PM (ha, same as the date). I spent that time on my Switch 2 progressing the game I was playing until the power came back on. I did worry for my PC as turning it on prompted a "couldn't connect to the network" message I had never seen before. It was going to continue on for half an hour unless prompted to do anything else. I clicked for more recovery options and opted to turn off the PC. Waited for about a minute before turning it back on and thankfully everything was working properly.

We had a rolling outage on the 22nd. Not sure what's going on.

- The a/c went out at around 11AM (09.06). It still ran, but it wasn't staying cool. Tried all the normal things I always try, but nothing was working. Our uncle that does a/c literally went to the Philippines the day before, ha. Parents got someone to come out. Originally they were supposed to be at the house by 3:30PM. We called them at 4:30PM and they were stuck in traffic and didn't arrive until shortly after 5PM. It didn't take long for them to figure out how to make it cool again. So our a/c was out for 7 hours. I spent the majority of that time progressing the story of the game I was playing just like when the power went out yesterday. But it wasn't completely over as the other issue was that our a/c monitor was on the fritz. The numbers wouldn't pop up and that made it to where we wouldn't know the temperature or set the auto function. This was an old monitor from when the house was originally built so I'm surprised it did last for over three decades. The worker had to call his other workers to prepare the monitor and tools to bring to him. A little close to 7PM was when they got it properly set up.

- I made an order online for 9 blind bags of a series to act as party favors (09.16). It arrived on the 20th and I opened it late at night after getting home from work. Checked the items inside and...it wasn't completely correct. There were 8 of the 9 blind bags along with one from a similar series and one from a different franchise. Part of me was thinking if I would be okay with this, but the reason to get them was for all that are part of the event would leave with a similar item to bond us. So I went to the delivery email and clicked on the option for refunds/replacements. Tried the AI chat bot and it wasn't doing the job. But they provided a link to submit a ticket. Filled in the correct spots, typed out an email and provided links for the products, took a photo to attach to show everything (the 8 correct items and 2 incorrect items along with my pack-in receipt), and submitted it around 11PM.

Woke up to an email from them. The email did arrive half an hour after it was sent. It had good news. They said they were going to send out replacements to arrive in the next 3-5 days before the event. And they said I could keep the incorrect items. I don't mind one of them, but the other...not so much. Maybe those will be extra favors for the event. We'll see. But yay for customer service being speedy with a reply and giving the best possible solution. They ended up giving me two of the original series I wanted, giving me 10 total (09.24). What to do with the other one, hmm?

- Caught up on Wrestlepalooza (09.20). Saw some highlights on social media beforehand and it looked like a great show. But it seems that's how I'll be enjoying these events now. The price range for the ESPN app is a little too much per month for something I'd only use once a month at best. Sure it comes with Disney+ and Hulu, but even when I had those, I wasn't using them as much either. Maybe someone will hook me up with their account or the price will become more reasonable in the near future.

- Got another hand-me-down iPhone (09.21). Upgraded from an 11 to a 14 Pro. I looked up a couple of videos to see how the transfer process was and it seemed simple enough. From 9:40AM-10:30AM was when everything transferred from the old phone to the new phone. Then I spent about half an hour testing to see if apps worked as well as signing into a few I was automatically signed out of. And I went to reset the previous phone since the prompt came up...but I should not have as I didn't transfer the eSIM yet...yeah. Went and asked for help and that took a while because they also had issues transitioning from that phone to their new one. That was solved by noon. After that, it was more of re-signing into accounts, setting preferences, and adding music. Emphasis on adding music because the previous phone had 64GB. I used to have to choose what songs I needed to remove so that there would be space. I did that with photos as well, but that was never really the issue, it was always music. Now I have 512GB. All music on, nothing missing.

I did also receive some AirPods Pro 3. I usually don't like earbuds that have a rubber tip as they usually don't fit well for me. These did. I spent some time trying out the noise cancellation and thought that was really cool.

- Watched Transformers One (09.23). This movie kept getting pushed back for a long time and was even slated, but later deleted off of this month's schedule. But since I wasn't scheduled for work, it was put back on. Quite a few friends have mentioned how much they liked it and watched it multiple times in the theatres. I understand why. This was great from beginning to end. My only criticism was that there was a bit too much comedy than I would like. Other than that, everything was great. Seeing familiar Transformers elicited a pop every time. I really liked how creative they were using transformations during fight scenes. Every time something happened like that, I nodded thinking "that makes sense." Apparently there aren't plans for a sequel, which is disappointing. But if it ever gets the green light, I'll be there to watch it.

- Had my second of two ENT appointments for the year (09.24). This was supposed to happen at the end of last month, but they needed to reschedule me. Appointment was at 1:30PM, which is later than most of my appointments with them in general. I left at noon to make sure to have enough time to find parking as that hasn't been great the last few visits. Got there around 12:450M and ended up finding parking within 2 minutes. No need to drive endlessly through a parking garage and the parking lot repeatedly. Went and checked-in and waited for my hearing test at 1:30PM.

This was the first time with possibly a new person, but they were good and concise. It took less than 15 minutes to get it done and he showed me comparisons to previous visits. Pretty much the same compared to earlier in the year, but better from a year ago. Got my print out and went back to the lobby to wait for my visit with the doctor at 2PM. I didn't get to go in until 2:20PM. Not the first time I had to wait long, but then it was another 55 minutes before I saw the doctor. How did I know it was 55 minutes? I finished a podcast that was that length before seeing him. I did notice that it was busier than usual so I expectedly a delay, just not that long. Even then, my time with the doctor was 15 minutes at best. We talked about how we're still kicking the can down the road to avoid surgery and he cleaned out the wax in my ears. Scheduled my next appointment for March and left.

I took a different route home as I wanted to go to Teaa byme to use a $4 coupon before it expired at the end of the month. Hit a little bit of rain and a small pocket of traffic, but I arrived there around 4PM. Ordered an Oreo Brulee Slush and got it in about 5 minutes. Went back to my car and texted and called a friend since we wanted to meet up. Unfortunately they got caught up in personal things and couldn't meet. That was disappointing as we had to reschedule meeting up a few times this month already. Hopefully the next time won't be delayed.

Went home and ended my day early by catching up on videos and other miscellaneous things.

GAMES=========================

- Demo Showcase Shorts continues. 21 total with more that will be carried over next month. The number should be a little less as some were Switch 2 versions of the same demo. I do like when there are separate demos for each because it's odd to download one under one label and it's the exact as the other. Will I really notice the difference? Probably not. But for archiving purposes, I'd prefer one for each. The ones that stood out to me the most and got added to my wish list were Baki Hanma: Blood Arena and Little Nightmares III.

https://x.com/ArnellragasA/status/1962561087381086573

Best Friend Forever finished again (09.01). This time it was Maribel's story and her dog Gravy. While I liked her story, it might have been the least interesting to me. It probably didn't help that this playthrough had the most glitches. Last time I would notice there were a few character issues when you would fast-forward through previously seen text. This time there was way more to the point that I would try reloading and it sometimes fixed the issue. Shame that even the ending played without my avatar being on screen. It's rare that your character isn't on screen, but to be missing from the ending, that sucked. That's five stories out of six. One more year to go.

Capitals Quizzer was the free-to-play game of the month (09.03). I did finish what was available (Capitals and Flags). The rest was paid DLC. I did better with Capitals compared to Flags. I gave each five tries. The fifth try was taking a screenshot, pausing the game, and looking up the answers online. That helped with achieving the status bar in the game. I liked it.

- My copy of SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance arrived (09.04). It was only the standard copy of the game, not the Classic cover with the steelbook etc as those are coming later. I get that they want to get the games into the hands of players faster to play, but I personally would have liked them to be all together. But that's me since I don't always play my games as soon as I get them like I used to. Currently I have Shinobi scheduled for February or June. I'm looking forward to eventually playing it as the demo was awesome.

Golden Axe was one of two Genesis NSO games of the month (09.04). I'm surprised I have never beat this game before. It's not incredibly long as once I found my groove after the first play (one hour), I was able to beat the game with the other two characters in about half an hour each. My biggest complaint is the AI. They go to you like magnets. If they're a certain distance away, they'll rush attack you. They'll always surround you. And if you're able to, you can have them walk toward you into a pit. So it works in your favor sometimes. Other than that, it's okay.

Golden Axe II was the second Genesis NSO game of the month (09.05). Never played this one. Smoother than the first game overall, but I wasn't into it. The AI was the same and the ending was very disappointing. Wasn't expecting anything big, but simply not what you earn. And because of that, I used the level select cheat to beat the game with the other two characters instead of playing them over again. I probably would have done that with the first Golden Axe if it was available.

BATTLETOADS IN BATTLEMANIACS was one of two SNES NC games of the month (09.05). This looked familiar so I knew I had played this before when I was younger. Either rented it or a cousin had it. It's not bad, but I didn't really enjoy it this time. The main thing that took me out of it was the Tracktors level. I probably spent more time with that level than all the rest combined. There's no real trick to it. Just be perfect or lose. And it didn't help that the two different endings were simple text blocks.

BATTLETOADS DOUBLE DRAGON: The Ultimate Team was the second SNES NC game of the month (09.07). I can recall trying this a few times with (most likely) my cousins. I know they liked it. After this playthrough, I was lukewarm about it. It's not bad, but I found it easy outside of boss fights, which were mainly tedious. I did find it disappointing that there's a bad ending for using the warp code. However, I mainly used that for the extra lives and started at the first level, ha. Out of the toads and the dragons, I preferred playing as the dragons.

Contra: Operation Galuga was finished (09.08-???). The demo was solid so I knew what to expect. My main gripes are some hit box detection and the difficulty (which you can change, I can only do Normal or less). Everything else, good stuff. The story ties in how Hard Corps and The Alien Wars happen. Arcade provided a fun challenge. Speed Run wasn't bad, but I was surprised it let you continue. And the Challenges were in fact challenging, but I liked the variety such as speed running, pacifist, obstacle course, and weapons expert. I could not finish the last three challenges in Rematch where you revisit boss fights. Each challenge had their own specific cans/can'ts. Those restrictions for those last three challenges made it almost impossible for me to do. I tried my best with 30-60 minutes for each, but it was too much for me. Other than those, the last two perks were also left locked. That required beating Story or Arcade on Hard...and I tried. I really was hoping to 100% complete it since I was close, but I'm not ashamed that I couldn't. It's a tough one, but a good one.

I did use the exploit for getting credits (currency). I read about it online and it took a few tries for me to get to the point of the loop. Basically you start with 4-players in Arcade mode on Hard with 1-hit deaths. Let three players lose all their lives then finish the first level. After that, lose all your lives. Select Continue and let it run. The second level involves speeder-bikes so you don't have to move and the enemies will come attack you. It takes 2 minutes or less for the enemies to deplete your (and the other players) lives. When you die, you get the earned credits of about 100 each. Playing on Hard you get a bonus multiplier along with playing with others. Do that over and over and your credits continue to increase. I did that for a good hour to see the credits earned were 10,000 each. What I did not know is that it was continuously adding the totals every time. For example, if we earned 1,000 each (4,000) and the next loop gets us 1,110 each (4,400), we actually now have 8,400 credits. I did not know that. I thought our new total was 1,100. That's why you see my total being what it is since I kept doing that for an hour and got everyone to have 10,000 credits. Oh well, ha.

- The latest Nintendo Direct aired (09.12). It was packed with many surprises. Below is the list of things I jotted down that caught my interest.

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 (10.02.25)
Super Mario Galaxy amiibo (04.02.26)
Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection (12.12.25)
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade  (01.22.26)
Kirby Air Riders amiibo (11.20.25)
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment (11.06.25)
Virtual Boy (Nintendo Classics) (02.17.26)
Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake (2026)
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond + amiibo (12.04.25)
Donkey Kong Bananza DLC (today)
Demos (Dinkus, DK Bananza, Persona 3 Reload)

- Picked up my copy of NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound (09.13). Initially I went to pick it up the day before (the release date), but it was in transit. Not only that, but everything I wanted to pre-order that day wasn't live in their system yet. I would have probably been able to get the game and pre-orders that day, but I was asked to go in early for work. The next day, I was able to go into work later, which gave me enough time to stop by GameStop before work. When I got there, I saw a line. It was for Pokemon cards. I parked and waited watching the line progress. It was slow. It was close to ten minutes before seeing anyone let in. Mathematically, I would have been waiting for close to an hour so I went to work instead. And since I was able to leave work earlier, I made my way to the store and finally picked up my game and reserved Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 and all seven amiibo announced in the Direct.

Originally I was going to also pre-order Little Nightmares III, but decided to wait for a sale since those titles go on sale all the time. It's odd since I don't apply that logic to other games I play months/years later. However, I do want to become better at playing new games sooner rather than later. A few games (DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, etc) unfortunately have been pushed back for years because something new has come out. I did spend some time (09.14) reorganizing a few things to make this happen properly. For example, Final Fantasy Tactics, which comes out at the end of September, was almost scheduled for one year later simply because others were getting priority. Now it's slated for the end of October.

Crush Crush update: only one girl left to unlock (09.22). Technically two, but one before I hit reset again to do the final alternate option (if I'm interpreting this correctly). The latest girl I unlocked was Nova. Good stuff. Need another 200 diamonds to unlock the last one. Got 11 through Nova. So a little less than 200 days left to get those free diamonds.

Ace Attorney Investigations Collection | Ace Attorney Investigations 2: Prosecutor's Gambit was a joy to play (09.14-09.22). This was the only Ace Attorney game I had not played since there wasn't an official translation of it until now. I do own a copy of the Japanese DS game and even have the special Ace Attorney Investigations DSi. While part of me wanted to play it naturally, I chose to turn on Story Mode for this as well. I think I would have needed an extra week if I didn't. I still think I got what I wanted out of which was seeing how the story unfolded. I was good to avoid the story spoilers all these years. I knew what some of the new characters looked like and that's about it.

All the praise I heard about this game is well deserved. There are many positives about it. Overall this felt better than the first game. The cameos were sprinkled about and they were plentiful. If they were simply NPCs or part of the main story, they were everywhere. The music really stood out to me this time. Other than hearing the familiar tunes, the new tracks hit harder for me this time compared to the first game's tunes. The story all came together in the end. Nothing felt like filler. Some chapters definitely went very long, but it keeps you engaged. The only time I was a little disappointed was the reveal of the main villain. It wasn't horrible, but I initially thought "really?" Then I dug it. Mind Chess was a great addition to the talking formula. The best thing was the growth of Edgeworth's character. While you see his growth in future Ace Attorney games, you see how it develops here.

And with that game done, the Ace Attorney Investigations Collection finished. And there are no more Ace Attorney games I haven't played. I'm content with that. Would I like a new series? Yes. Do I need a new series? Not really. If I were to fantasy book this, I'd either take a new trilogy that connects Phoenix, Apollo, and Edgeworth (like one is the main feature of their own game in the trilogy) or another Great Ace Attorney series to grow that period of time and the characters. I do like that a couple of days after finishing this game, the original trilogy is getting an update (story mode and more) as well as "Edgeworth" is no longer in charge of their social media, ha.

- I grabbed new links for the Read A Reviews (09.21-09.23). I've planned on doing this ever since I had to delete the majority of the Twitch VODs. There were 52 RaRs redeemed. 2 were lost (meaning I didn't have the text document anymore, yes I still count that as redeemed) and 3 links I could not grab because I accidentally typed the date the review was written instead of the date it was read. Some I relistened to while others I only grabbed the link and made sure that's when the review actually started. I only did this for a handful of titles each day rather than doing them all in one shot. But they're all (minus 5) are now easily found via the Master List.

- Extra NSO/NC game this month was KLONOA: Empire of Dreams on the GBA (09.26-09.30). This was announced earlier in the month with Mr. Driller 2 for GBA. I was bouncing back and forth with which I should try to fill out the month. I went with Klonoa as it seemed doable to beat whereas Mr. Driller might have been possible with more time allotted.

This was a fairly decent puzzle platformer. The level design was very good to the point that I never felt lost outside of a few of the latter stages. It wasn't too difficult to collect everything either (only a few times I had to backtrack to find one thing I missed). I had two negatives. One was the floating mechanic. If I didn't need it, I avoided using it. It just never felt solid for me. Two was that all of the boss battles were too easy. Not that I wanted them to be ridiculously hard, but I beat all of them without getting hit. But the levels (especially the latter ones and EX stages) provided more than enough of a challenge. Good game.

WORK=========================

Slow training day (09.03). Firstly, KH called in sick. We only had one booking at the time and ended up with three. But we were able to knock out a lot of CS' training (videos, walkthroughs without interruptions, quizzes, etc). I spent some extra time I had while they were training to sweep the lobby. And after they left at 8:30PM, I stayed an extra half hour to mop the lobby before leaving.

Another slow training day (09.04). HL was there to open, but left a few hours in as they weren't feeling well. But CS got to get more training in. Outside of more reps with resets and rehearsing their speeches, they did more of what they did the day before, but for other rooms and hosting related matters. And since there were no bookings, we left at 8:30PM. The good thing about that was to show them the closing duties.

- Ended up taking the day off (09.05). There were only a few bookings, CS wasn't training, and there were two others that could take care of things were it to become busy. I did end up going to CVS to pick up a few things (and use coupons), but I would have done that before my shift even if I didn't take the day off.

Kind of a busy Saturday (09.06). Not a lot of bookings at first, but enough to keep me busy almost all day (minus the first slot of bookings that were vacant). It was also a good way to ease CS into a busy day. They were doing something almost the whole time as well outside of the first hour where they watched one training video. Thankfully their training has been going well that I could trust them to do plenty of stuff on their own. There were only a few times they asked for help.

Other things to note include a customer bringing me a bag of cookies for being nice on the phone, trying to fix the file cabinet HL and KH attempted to build (I wanted to dismantle and start over, they wanted to return it), and this group of guys that I thought looked familiar so I treated them well but they turned out to be first timers that were being polite and ordered many drinks. I left my shift five minutes early because it really was hitting me during the last hour that I had been there for 9.5 hours. Longest shift in a while.

No bookings on a Wednesday (09.10). I stayed busy though. At the beginning, our timers were on their desktop screens because of an update so I spent a few minutes recalibrating them. Answered a few emails and prepared a few future bookings. Then I deep cleaned one of our escape rooms and our control room (no way that was cleaned regularly/properly). CS came in for their training. They're pretty much good with three rooms so far (they didn't even need our reset guide for one). KH came in for her shift. Originally I called her off due to the lack of bookings, but she asked if she could come in to clean. Got the approval from Agent Ocean and she came in when she was supposed to and cleaned for two hours before leaving early. I question the quality of cleanliness because it took me an hour for the ones I did and they did almost everything else? I shall discuss with Agent Ocean in the future. But the rest of the day was getting CS more training on things like editing bookings, making transactions for drinks/merchandise, answering phone calls, etc). As we were preparing to end the day early at 8:30PM, they accidentally dropped a prop in the latest room they trained in and the insides were spilled on the floor. They swept and I began to fix the prop. They left when their dad came by and I stayed an extra 20 minutes to properly replace that prop.

- First time working with Agent Ocean after their brief vacation (09.11). Spent some time catching up like how work was without him (I mentioned the pluses and the minuses), how his trip was, etc. I did learn that someone that went on the retreat put in their two weeks notice. Incredibly disappointing as that was wasted time and money. Other than getting stuff done (he fixed the cabinet that wasn't prepared properly by others), I trained CS more when they got in. They played another room solo and then went through the reset and quiz process. They picked it up fairly quickly. Agent Ocean left when they were scheduled to and same with CS. There were two teams the whole day and they were at the end of the day. I did spend time talking with the last team. They spent a lot of time stuck on something in the beginning and the rest of the room went smoothly. Apparently they always get tripped up at the start of escape rooms without fail. I gave them tips on what to do such as giving themselves a time limit for when to ask for hints and to encourage each other when there are big setbacks.

- Was asked to come in early on Friday (09.12). There weren't many bookings and Agent Ocean asked the staff that day if anyone wanted to take the day off with the exceptions of CS who is training and myself who was training them. No one replied so Agent Ocean asked if I could go in at 2PM (when his shift starts) and leave at 8:30PM (when CS' shift ends) and he would take the day off to save labor. My original shift was 4:30PM-12AM. Left early to go to GameStop to pick up my pre-order (but if you read already, it was still in transit) then headed to work. During my drive there, KH said they would take the day off. So Agent Ocean came in like normal, but ended up leaving early due to tooth pain. CS played another room solo to train in. We had some bookings sprinkled throughout for me and HL to handle while taking care of other projects. Initially I was asking HL if she would be fine if I left when CS' shift was over, but that changed to her asking to leave early instead. I was okay with that. HL left shortly after 8PM and CS stuck around for the rest of their shift. They did wish they could stay longer as the last team she intro'd was fun and she wanted to see how it turned out. I offered for them to stay longer, but their ride was already on the way. So I ended the night solo with three bookings with the last one ending at 10:50PM. During that last one, I was performing a lot of the closing duties so that by the time they were done, I only had to reset their room, turn off a few lights, and lock up. Left a little after 11PM making it the first time in a long time that I got home close to midnight. Earlier in the day I was mentioning to Agent Ocean I could come in late the next day and leave early as well to save on hours as I would be close to over time. When I left, I said I would for sure come in later the next day, ha.

Busy Saturday (09.13). Not in terms of bookings, but hectic-ness. First off, was supposed to be there at 11AM, but came in a little before noon because of GameStop reasons written earlier. Agent Ocean was already there, I started to help set up, and HL came in for their shift. Not much at the beginning of the day until the birthday party happened. IB joined the fray during that time. The party was late. Even the mom said there were misinterpretations of the time that the birthday girl was late. I had to start their time without her because they were already 15 minutes behind and they had two teams. The second team was three young pre-teens and one adult. One kid started to cry really loud in the hallway and in the end did not go in. As I was saying my intro speech, one of the little kids said "I don't want to do this." As if on cue, their dad showed up to encourage them to stay and ultimately stayed. This put us behind on almost everything for a while. A few minutes after the party was done and the next crop of teams were coming in, we had a power outage. It was a brief a few seconds, but it was enough to turn off almost everything and for us to lose the internet for maybe 10 minutes. Not only did we have to make sure current teams were fine and could continue (given walkie talkies, etc), but we had to make sure everything was still operable. We did miss a few things like some of the countdown screens being reset in rooms that weren't active. But we thankfully had some patient teams that understood what was going on, especially seeing the volume of people in the venue. It still sucked that teams had to start 15-20 minutes late, but thankfully there weren't a lot of bookings immediately after that wave. Originally I discussed with Agent Ocean about leaving as early as 6PM, but that was in the middle of everything. Ended up leaving during the calm at 6:30PM. I was so hungry that I went to The Bep to get popcorn chicken before heading back to GameStop to finally pick up my game and make reservations.

Slow Wednesday (09.17). I had two hours to take care of anything before CS showed up so I set up the room that was booked as well as "mess up" the last room CS needed to train in. While doing that, I happened to find something on the floor. It stood out as it wasn't part of the room. Picked it up and brought it out to the brighter lights and realized it was a small Pochacco head. It must have fallen off something a customer had. It's tiny so the fact that I noticed it is nuts, ha. It now sits in my bag zipped safely away.

After that, I proceeded to clean, but specifically vacuum. I did this thing where I lift the couches in the lobby onto one end and get into the areas underneath it. It was dirty. Was I surprised, no. But the fact that some of the staff have "taken charge" in cleaning, I again doubt how they do it because there was so much dust, especially under one in particular. Since I had the vacuum out, I used it on anything else that we had carpet on (should have dusted off the tops of surfaces first). Took care of emails/calls and booking requests, restocked some of the alcohol, and threw away empty boxes.

CS showed up and training commenced. They pretty much have done everything as a Game Host minus phone calls. This was their first day being a Game Master with me being the co-pilot. The team was booked towards the end of the day...and they were about 20 minutes late. They called ahead of time, but they each came one at a time and had not done their waivers and some still had to pay. CS handled them from beginning to end. Were they the best team, no. Some clearly did nothing except mess with the others or yell or tell others to stop/shut up and take photos (even though we told them multiple times not to). The ones that did well stood out as MVPs. The only time I had to take over was when one of them pushed too hard against a secret door for it to open. I immediately typed that they weren't supposed to do that and to keep it closed until we say so. Again, not the best group. The ones that were doing things had fun, but we were glad to see them leave. It was actually good that CS got this team as they were a good example of a bad team. Hopefully their next team will be a fun one.

Had the team arrived on time, CS would have had more practice with closing duties. But by the time the team was done, they only had time to reset the room before their dad picked them up. I stuck around for about 10 more minutes to wrap up any miscellaneous closing details.

No bookings this Thursday (09.18). I answered emails and phone calls at the beginning of my shift. Then I went to organize old receipts to place in our new file cabinet. I forgot how long it took, but I made sure to separate them by either year or month depending on the receipt. CS came in for their shift and I explained how we're basically going to clean all day and possibly leave early if no one else shows up. And that's what happened. They took care of two rooms, I took care of the lobby and hallways, and we ended with both of us cleaning the control room. Somewhere between 6:30PM and 7PM is when AH showed up with her boyfriend to drop off a drink for CS and to chill with us. Silliness was had, ha. After they left was when we cleaned the control as mentioned earlier (just wanted to put all the cleaning stuff together). CS' dad showed up to get them and I stuck around a few minutes longer just to wait out the last 10 minutes that a booking could happen. It obviously didn't. Left at 7:40PM.

And then there was traffic. What would normally take 40 minutes ended up being 75. Add 2-3 more as I stopped by Kroger first. I don't even know why there was traffic. Either the light was fixed or the accident was cleared by the time I got to it. But I caught up on social media as much as I could as the majority of the ride was a crawl. But the destination to Kroger would have occurred no matter what as I finally found  a store that had both Oreo Reese's and Reese's Oreos. I knew about them and that they were available this month, but not a lot of stores had both. It was easy to find the Oreos as they were in an aisle. I had to check 2-3 cashier lanes to see if the Reese's were in those areas. Got two of each, checked out, and was done in five minutes. Those snacks, yum. They're both great, but I like the Oreos more.

To top it all off, a place my parents normally get pizza at (not a franchise) messed up their order. They added spicy sauce, which neither of my parents can really take. The thing is it wasn't for every slice. It was maybe every other slice. It definitely was spicy, more than I'd like. I hope they don't go back there again to avoid this happening again.

Slow Friday (09.19). Main plan was to have CS start Game Master training while others worked on other projects. There were only four bookings so there wasn't much to scramble about in terms of teams. HL asked to leave early due to having friends in town (left at 8PM). CS left shortly after (good job on GMing). Shortly after, Agent Ocean left early as well. There was one final team for the night when CS left and I took care of it. No bookings after so once they were done, I wrapped up the remainder of closing duties and left early at 10PM.

Slow-ish Saturday (09.20). Continuing the plan of yesterday, but having IB in the mix. At the beginning I helped Agent Ocean set up stuff before customers started coming in and I did my Game Master duties. CS got to try GMing two rooms at the same time and then stuck with one room they were solid on throughout while getting to shadow a couple of other rooms I handled on the side. What was odd was that there were a lot of bad teams. In one way or another they weren't stellar. There was one section of time where myself, CS, and IB each had a couple in our rooms and they were all bad, ha. Shout out to the one good group that did really well and did a replay and did really well once again (I was their GM). I stayed a little later (40 extra minutes) to finish out with my last team and left around 8:45PM.

Slow Thursday again (09.25). Going into work, there were zero bookings. By the end of the day, we had 3 (two happened naturally and one I booked over the phone). I still called off KH as CS could use more training as a GM. But the two hours before they showed up, I answered emails (made a few future bookings), answered a few calls (one was the booking for this day mentioned earlier), and cleaned (swept and mopped our lobby and control room). CS showed up for their shift at 4:30PM per usual and we went over the game plan; I'm the Game Host for today while they're the Game Master. But I also left the rooms unset so that they would be able to do them. I got to show them how one of the rooms can be troublesome with booting up at the beginning of the day, so they now know.

Then we sat down and worked on an email about the new training process. Since they were the first one to be trained under it, I wanted upper management to know some of my thoughts as well as CS' input on what they liked and didn't like. In the end, I mentioned how I trained them the same way I would have with my previous version of the tracking. The issue wasn't that my tracker was bad. It was that no one other than me was using it. And since I was the only one assigned to train this time without any interference from others training them on whatever (for example; one employee was trained immediately as a GM instead of a host, which most of management did not like). Hopefully with some of our critiques and seeing how this went will lead to a better and consistent way of training from now on.

Each team that day were pairs. The first was very much okay with getting our assistance and they did fairly well. The third was a couple that had done escape rooms before and did a good job with escaping with 10-15 minutes left allowing CS to host them out before leaving for the day. The second team was the phone call I handled earlier. This was a mom scheduling a room for two of her kids (one 11 and the other younger). I asked if she was going to join and that's when she mentioned that she was recently divorced (January) and needed to penny-pinch, but wanted to do something for her kids to have fun. I mentioned how she could watch them play at a small additional fee and she said she'd think about it. When we got to the payment part, she said that the card was still under her married name. I joked that if the ex-husband is paying that we should add an extra zero to the total. She laughed and said she would if it was possible, but they already made sure to separate things financially. She did call a couple more times about not receiving the waiver and that they were going to be a little late due to traffic. But I could tell after the first call that I would make sure to take care of this team.

They arrived about 15 minutes late. She was very pretty, ha. I didn't deviate from how I was going to take care of the team, but...I did a few extra things in regards to her. I let them know that they were still getting their full time since they were the last team of the night. Just like I do with most parents, I let her join us as I did the wall of locks and the intro speech in the room itself. Started the game and walked her back out to the lobby. I let her know that the watching option was still available ($10), but she reiterated that they're scraping by with things lately so she would have to pass. After making sure the game was up and running with CS, I gave her the iPad and said it was on the house. Originally I was going to offer to let her play with them for free, but she did say that this was for the kids. Plus it also seemed like she needed time to herself. I sat next to her to show her how to navigate the iPad, but then switched to the laptop to make it easier. I apologized for invading her space and she was okay with it, mentioning that she got a good vibe from me from the phone call. I thanked her for that as I felt no one else on staff (maybe Agent Ocean) would give this attention or exude the type of energy for a customer to feel that comfortable. Then she proceeded to let me know more details about her divorce (whoa). I shared a story of how a couple broke up in one of our rooms and she was stunned. That was interrupted by a phone call. Other than that, I only checked in on her one additional time to offer a free drink that she ended up not taking. She did seem very cheerful watching her kids have fun and that was enough. While CS was their GM for the first half, I took over when their shift ended. Since they were the only team left, I took the walkie-talkie with me to the lobby and put the game on there and continued talking with the mom as I was doing minor closing duties (turning off lights and TVs, locking the front door, tip tracker, etc). I let her know that we've been giving them extra time so they could finish, that her daughter was figuring stuff out but doubted herself a few times, and how much progress was left (they were on the last few puzzles). She could hear the advice I was giving them. I mentioned specifically when they were on the last puzzle and she was excited. Once they put in the final code I said "let's go get the kids" and she followed me. As we were walking, she said how the kids needed something like this to have fun and win and forget about the divorce as it was hard on them especially the boy since he lost his male figure to look up to. Halfway down the hall, I stopped and asked if she needed a hug. She smiled and said yes and we hugged while she said something along the lines of "sometimes we just need a hug during these tough times and hugs can do wonders." We joined the kids and asked them how it was, I said how it's a tough room but they did well, and the mom poked a little fun at them saying how she was watching them and they were proud that they won. I walked them out to take their team photo, gave them their wrist bands, and I gave the mom the business card we hand out for reviews...but I pointed out my phone number was on it and said "the ball is in your court for what you want to do with that." She thanked me again for everything, the kids said a few more things, they want to come back and the mom might play next time, and they all thanked me as they left. We shall see how that ends up going.

I left around 9:30PM after closing things out.

- Another slow Friday (09.26). In the end there were 7 bookings spread throughout the day. But the first hour was full of nothing. Cleaning was already done, rooms were already set up, no emails or voicemails needed to be replied to. So we chilled until the first team showed up. More training for CS and I handled a couple of teams myself as Agent Ocean and HL were taking time cleaning and organizing things in the back room. I ended up leaving early around 9:30PM, but not before going over the reset process of our holiday room with HL. If I stayed during my whole shift, I would have left around 11:30PM.

Somewhat busy Saturday (09.27). Not the busiest ever, but the busiest in a while. We had a total of 8 Kids Mode rooms, which might be the most ever in one day. Thankfully the majority of the kids were nice and purely excited and having fun. One team really enjoyed CS and called them a baddie, ha. It was good training for CS to not only have more Kids Mode teams. And they also got to finally train in the final rooms they didn't get to GM yet. At the end of the day, CS completed all of their training. Other than, I was a GM for half the day before Agent Ocean asked me to swap when SC showed up (understandable). Then I texted SP about the big party at the venue the following day and if I needed to prepare anything. Got specific drinks ready in the front and back per request and let HL know about it since they were going to be there that day as well. Left at 8PM.

Monday shift for my final shift of the month (09.29). Immediately when I walked in, I saw the aftermath from the big venue buyout the day before. Pizza pans and utensils were left out to dry, the laptop was left plugged into the party room TV, the fridge wasn't restocked, candy wrappers were on the floor, and there were chips scattered in one corner of the lobby desk on our side. If it was one thing, no problem (still bad), but this was not welcoming to walk into. I text Agent Ocean specifically about the pizza pans and utensils being left out. He confirmed that they were to be put away. I took photos about everything and sent them to him (not even everything) to let him know that this is what I had to take care of. They are simple things with restocking the fridge taking the most time as I rearranged things. But that's the thing, these were minor things that should have been taken care of. It's not like it was incredibly busy after the venue buyout so it was definitely possible for the tasks to be done. Instead, I spent the first hour of my day taking care of it. Agent Ocean messaged me later saying how two of the staff members were going off about everything. Same old reaction; they get pissed off and don't take accountability for anything they've ever done wrong (because they're never wrong). A lot of blah blah blah, but I reiterated to Agent Ocean that having a disciplinary policy and evaluations would (hopefully) help make things like this be less or help weed out those that probably shouldn't be there. Here's how I see it, if there was nothing wrong, nothing needs to be said. If something is wrong, the staff needs to know what they did wrong, take accountability and apologize, and become better. Not make a big deal out of everything as if we're personally attacking you and ruining your day. The next day I work with any of them should be interesting...or not. I don't care. I'm doing what I'm supposed to, I apologize when I mess up, and I become better.

There wasn't much to do for the day. After taking care of those things mentioned earlier, I finally got back to my proofreading project that I haven't had too much of a chance to work on due to training CS. I only got about an hour at best done as we had a walk-in and later had another team book. The first did very well with little assistance. The last one needed help, but was fun to watch. After resetting those rooms, it was pretty much time to leave early as there were no other bookings. Left at 7:30PM.

ETC=========================

- Laura Shigihara - What You Mean to Me (Official Féileacán Cú Ending Theme)

- aespa - Rich Man (MV)

- Kiroro - Mirai E (To the future)

A long time friend from highschool (WR) messaged me asking where this song came from. It was a song our Sensei played for us during class one time saying it's a good song to hear and understand the pronunciation of the language. Ever since then, it was on a few of our playlists. He just forgot where it came from and then it clicked once I explained it. Good memories.

- WENDY - Sunkiss (MV)

- CHAEYOUNG - SHOOT (Firecracker) (MV)

- IRENE & SEULGI Concert Tour BALANCE (rehearsal)

The background dancer with the belly piercing is gorgeous.

- BabyVoX - Zip Daesung

Seeing BabyVoX appear on variety shows lately has been warming my heart. This one was full of laughs.

BabyVoX concert merchandise was announced (09.23). NRM was in Korea at the time so I asked if they were able to get some during the days of the concert. Unfortunately their schedule was already packed so they couldn't make it out there. Even WR was busy with work and other plans that they couldn't make the four hour drive out there. Thank you though. Hopefully I can find an online shop selling the items afterwards at a reasonable price. As much as I'd like everything, realistically I'd really want the fanlight (lightstick), photo card set, and shirt.

On the days of their concerts (09.26-09.27), I made sure to listen to their New Breath album as I drove to work. Could not help but smile as I was singing. It's simply wonderful.

- Jokingly I dubbed this "celebrating 2 years retired from streaming." I didn't choose the date, they did. But it was a gathering of two different friend groups to do something together. Some had met before, some had not. I'm the mutual link. Made plans after Agent PQ asked if I had plans for the second and that we should do something together. That's when I suggested Game Show Battle Rooms to have the HERetirees VS GGSN. I asked around and everyone was in. Then we had to decide on a date with it needing to land on a Sunday. It dwindled down to the 7th or the 28th. As mentioned earlier, they decided on the date, which was the 28th. I didn't realize it at first, but it legit was the day of my stream anniversaries. Next was figuring out the time, which wasn't so bad. Since we were all driving far out, I figured it would be a good idea to plan other things. Once it was decided on, I sent out the itinerary a month in advance, reminded them 1 week prior, and made a few last minute plans. I made all the proper bookings, called to ask a few questions, paid when I could and things were set.

The day of, I had my dad drop me off at G and Rannchan's where Kai was. We went to pick up Triple S at around 12:30PM and headed off to our first destination; The Sweet Swirl. We were a bit late as there was traffic that Agent Ocean ended up going through himself. Agent Blue, Agent Majordomo, and Agent PQ were going to meet at the Game Show. Everyone else had not been to The Sweet Swirl prior, but I"m glad they all got something they liked. Then we all headed to the main desitnation. Agent Ocean checked on the sister location while the rest of us went to JAX for G and a couple others to get some food-food. We walked after food was received and met up with the rest of the gang outside of the Game Show. Once I went in, the staff member lit up with glee recognizing me. It was Boogers (their clown name). We had befriended each other due to being neighbors of the sister location and she was our host both times Agent Ocean and I went there. When I called before booking, she answered a few questions I had, but I forgot to ask her to be our host. A call closer to the booking was when I did make sure to ask. The day of, she said she had no idea who would request, but then it made sense when she saw me. She asked a few questions about the reason to celebrate and that's when she gave me a microphone. That's when I cemented that we were there to celebrate 2 years of stream retirement, ha.

Then it was game time. The teams were already decided so we skipped the random color chip selection. Then it was a few minutes of them writing their nicknames and coming up with a team name. It was GGSN VS Major Q Blue Ocean. Everything went well and everyone was having a great time playing the various games. The only downside was the bright lights were getting to Rannchan. She shifted herself to be further down the table and away from the lights. I also gave her my sunglasses to help shield things off. I asked Boogers if we could dim the lights. Initially they couldn't, but later realized how to make the lighting better overall for her. Got some water for Rannchan to take some medicine and she was able to continue playing. I was surprised with how well everyone was doing and getting into. The times they weren't doing so well was hilarious too. Cheers to all the WILD spins, ha. In the end, Major Q Blue Ocean won, yay. We took some team photos to end things and I joined in. Spent some time talking with Boogers afterwards and thanking her and her co-host for keeping things fun. I asked if they could show everyone the other so maybe next time we'll have a round two in there. Stuck around to talk a bit more before walking to the sister location.

This was our intermission to relax and play card games. I told everyone that since the day wasn't busy that we could commandeer a table or two to play in the lobby, but if customers came through we would give up our spots or move around to accomodate. I greeted the staff there and met their latest staff member AT. After everyone had used the restroom and settled in, CG came over to us and said I could show them one of the rooms since it was available. Then he said I should give them the Game Host treatment as I wouldn't normally get to do that for them. So I did it and laughed a few times since some were being intense about paying attention and asking questions. I walked them into their room and continued the speech. CG was in there as well and mentioned a few things I legit forgot about a few props. And then I proceeded to start the game and left them. Surprise, ha. I texted CG the night before about using their acting skills for this portion. Agent Ocean knew of it, but wasn't going to participate since he had things to take care of work-wise. After the prologue played, I messaged everyone to partner up with someone from the formerly other team with only one exception of Agent PQ and Rannchan teaming up (too strong). And while I originally wasn't going to be their Game Master, it wasn't so busy so I wasn't taking away a computer from the staff. It was interesting watching them play as a collective unit as I know how they are split up. They did fairly well and only really needed to ask for 1-2 hints. Otherwise I'd chime in with quips or telling them to move away from certain sections. They escaped of course. Got a team photo taken. I asked if any of them had any idea and none of them did. I thought some would have had an assumption because of the timeframe of the intermission. But I'm glad it went off without a hitch.

Then it was off for dinner at Dragon Bowl C (15 minutes away). None of us had been there before and there were no objections to the food options they offered. I did call them in the morning just incase I needed to reserve a big table, but they said I'd be okay. I rode with Agent Blue and caught up with him for a bit. We were last to arrive. The place was interesting. There definitely were Dragon Ball decorations up (VHS tapes, statues, posters, anime playing on TV, etc), but it wasn't strictly Dragon Ball (I suppose to cater to non-DBZ patrons). I already knew what I wanted to order beforehand, but doublechecked the menu just in case. Nice chatter as we all ate some good food. I got very full, ha. As Agent Ocean was about to leave, I made sure to give everyone a speech before he did. I didn't get everything out (I remembered and said the rest to each group later), but I basically said it's hard to get either group together and the fact that both were able to come together was amazing. Then I gave them their party favors. Remember the blind bags I talked about ordering earlier in this entry? That's what this was for. Got them all Dragon Ball Z blind bags from the same bag series. We all opened them and there were only two repeats (I got Gotenks). I asked the waitress to take our photo with all of us holding our new gift. The idea was that we also had a keepsake in honor of hanging out together. The rest of us left around 7:30PM. We said our byes and I rode back with the GGSN crew.

Dropped off Triple S first and then I was dropped off next. I gave Rannchan a box of the Oreo Reese's as a thanks for driving. I settled in and put away a few things and then looked at the photos I took. Spent some time figuring out which ones to post (and navigating how to post on mobile certain ways). This also marks the first time I mad a post on Instagram that was not stream related. I figured this would be the time to start using that for more than just stories. It might be for gatherings like this, food, games, wrestling, etc. But we shall see. The day went off well. I can't be more thankful for these friends. And as I told them, a lot of my plans for this month to treat myself and even my actual birthday plans got altered or rescheduled or cancelled. This was the only event that actually happened as planned. Thank you.

That's a wrap on September 2025. Thank you for your support. Be cool and be kind.
